“We were driving from Mackinaw Island to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore when we stumbled upon King Orchards' road-side market and bakery. The orchard also offers U-pick berries and orchard fruits but we didn't have time on our travel day. My husband, who was driving, was most interested in getting a strong caffeinated coffee and a bakery item, while I mostly wanted to browse. We ended up being enticed by a table with fresh discounted bakery items -- including an apple pie and croissants. We relaxed with a delicious slice of pie at a table in front, along with coffee and an apple cider "icee" before continuing on our journey. The small shop was cozy and well laid out and the two women in the shop were very friendly.”
