“The store is very unique! Huge variety of novelty items. Lots of old fashioned candy. When you go through make sure you take your time. The counter person was such a great help! Knew what they had and where to look for "themed" items.”

“The hubby and I went out for breakfast and did a little shopping in the area for the holidays and we had walked by this place a few times but had never gone in. We said, to hell with our diet, let’s check out some chocolate! This company didn’t disappoint! The atmosphere is simple and doesn’t have the decorated storefront and aesthetic of big brand places like Kilwins or Saunders, but where the true magic lies is in the product itself and the love that goes into their creations. We had just wanted to browse, but the lovely employee provided us with an experience unlike any other we’ve had in a chocolatier. She asked us about our chocolate preferences and what we like paired with them then offered us some samples. Woooooo buddy! The caramel covered in milk chocolate was like gifting an early Christmas gift to um taste buds. She went on to tell us about the rich history of the business that began in Détroit and all of the ups and downs that brought the company to where it is today. For a small business to make it through economic hardships and the passing of the founder is impressive. She showed us pictures of original storefront and signs which made me think of my grandma who grew up in Detroit. It brought a smile to my face thinking of her enjoying chocolate treats gifted to her from my grandpa when they were young and newly in love.We purchased their malt balls and they are the best I’ve ever had. We will certainly be back closer to the holidays to pick up our annual chocolate haul for family gifts.I’m sure many of you who read this have fallen prey to the last minute shopping madness before the holidays resulting in purchasing from large companies who manufacture or mass sell their goods (I see you Amazon and Walmart), but please consider stopping by your local businesses for your holiday shopping. Clicking ‘add to cart’ for easy two day shipping does save time and sometimes money… but the love, care, and passion that goes into making the product just isn’t there. We loved how enthusiastic the employee was and how she easily triggered happy memories and how kind she was to her community members. I give my highest of recommendations to Sweet Essentials and will certainly be back to treat my taste buds. Thank you for a lovely and memorable experience !”

“I've been a Clawson resident for a little over 7 years now, and I finally was able to stop by here today. I'm also a candy editor for my job, so this was like being a kid in a candy shop, no pun intended. I was specifically looking for Fruit Stripe gum, since the company decided to discontinue it. They unfortunately did not have it but they had a plethora of other pretty cool candies and chocolates. I ended up buying a few peanut butter cups that I had never seen before, a Hot Tamales candy cane for my fiance, some coconut strip things for myself, and a few other goodies. If money was no object, I also would have bought the Ted Lasso branded candies and ALL of the Golden Girls stuff, as that's one of my favorite TV shows. They had a nice selection of freeze-dried candy as well, which is a new trend, but they were a little expensive, at $7.99 per bag. The saleslady was very friendly here as well and asked if I had any questions or needed help with anything, when I was in the store. I wish I had visited here earlier in my Clawson residency, but I will definitely be back.”

“Came here to get ice cream with my family. Cute little place with pictures on the wall in a small town. The lady was friendly we got a recess ice cream, cotton candy, cookie dough and nerdy something. Ice cream was good no complaints.”

“Hands down the best Knefe (kunafeh) in Dearborn and likely the entire United States. There are many styles of this dish and much debate in which school or style has the best, and this is the monarch of Lebanese style kunafeh within thousands of miles’ radius. Absolutely must try. Way better than the competition it decidedly leaves in the dust. Also it’s available starting 7am for those of us early risers who need to get a bite before work. Also the croissants are very special Lebanese French fusion, and I especially recommend the zaatar and cheese: if you can find them — these sell out quick.Service is courteous and helpful. And they also can give you frozen kunafeh trays if you are traveling long distances with them and want to enjoy them with friends a few states away. I hear they ship to. Make no mistake: it’s a mistake not to try this humble looking but flavor packing joint when in town.”

“I have placed an order from PALM SWEETS, to try the delicious, tasty baklava everyone recommended when I asked. Baklava is super fresh, juicy and filled with pistachios. I live all the way in California, and the customer service I received was incredible. Thank you Khalid so much! You are the best!”
