I have bought a lot of Detroit parts and all of them have been pretty good with quick shipping. However I'm currently going through a terrible customer service experience. They have essentially held my money without my consent going on a week. This is outside the roughly 3-7 days processing/ship time(small rural town).I have contacted them twice and was promised call backs and never received them. The part I ordered is out of stock and they updated the ship time to 4 days later knowing they didn't even have the part. Now I'm stuck waiting for a refund one day after a date that was made up. I have verified all this through about 8 phone calls and a few emails between Detroit, FedEx, and Amazon. In total I'm looking at about 14-21 days before I receive my money back. This is from a company who claims 2 days shipped to my location and I believe 4 days nationwide.

FRAUD! This place sent us the wrong parts for my Cadillac. They sent us a brake and rotor set rear and front. We spoke to them on two different occasions. We even provided Vin number. They sent incorrect parts. Sent brakes back and they said rotors would fit. My father got them out and it would not fit on the car. They said to send it back for refund. Requested correct set and they said they dont carry. So he then sent it back. Now they won't refund. Even though their error sending wrong parts. They claim used parts was sent back. No parts was used. They only want to pay for brakes won't credit rotors. Ridiculous and fraudulent. Spoke to them several times and they even had VIN. SO INSTEAD OF ACCEPTING THEIR MISTAKE AND REFUND THEY BLAMED HIM. WHAT A SCAM

Rude and talk to you like you are stupid. Had 1 employee working the register. They “use” the take a number system. But don’t actually use it. Just yell out random numbers. Took me 35 minutes to pay for my parts. And then 45 minutes for them to pull the parts. If I didn’t need them today. I would order on Amazon. This business is a joke, zero organization.

I just want to say that this company is the hardest to deal with. They send the wrong part then want you to pay to have the right part shipped. When I call the person has no clue what a lug nut is. Worst experience with a major company.

I will never order from them again ordered Friday told me the part will be shipped with 2 day shipping they created just a label never delivered to parts to fed ex it’s now Monday I called them and was told it will ship in a few hrsSo I called back 5 hrs later and now I’m being told it will ship tomorrow I feel so scammed because I could have got the parts for cheaper else were but I chose them because of the 2 day shipping I will never ever order from them again they lost a customer on the first transaction please don’t buy from them

If they get some good front desk people it could be a great place the guys there are terrible if the parts wont be ready for 4 hours then just say so rock auto probaly faster better quailty

Good parts for a good price, order online. Going in store you wait forever. They sold me sway bar links they didn’t have and I waited in stores for over a HALF HOUR to get a refund.

Worst place to order parts from I bought suspension parts for my truck and all parts have 10 year warranty the parts worn out not 4years into it and called customer service and was told I have to pay $140 dollars for shipping that's insane to have to pay for worn defective parts they promise you 10 year warranty parts do not last I would not recommend Detroit Axle to anyone after this issue I checked there competitors and shipping is under $50 dollars so I will order parts from another company beware of Detroit Axle there parts don't last and they want you to come out of pocket $140 dollars for shipping when there parts were worn out and defective. I got in touch with customer service again for the to try and charge me $155 they want more than the previous on shipping Very Bad Business and can't get in contact and can't get anyone that's based in the USA I Will order from Rock Auto since the owner wrote a response that they would take care of me and they did not NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM DETROIT AXLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WASTE OF TIME PARTS AND CASH!

Very disappointed in the customer service. We place an order on February 20th supposedly they ship the next business day well they did create a label 3 days later FedEx had yet to receive any package. Called for 3 hours trying to speak with customer service finally getting someone only at first to be told they would call me back in 3 hours (conveniently after they closed). Finally got through to a manager explained we just wanted to cancel since the package was never shipped as stated, and the charge was still pending. I was then told they would have to find the package. Then I was told the package was in a warehouse in Texas and he had emailed a manager at that location to see if they could find it. And once again given the run around. Horrible customer service what makes this even worse the manager assured me that if for some reason they ship the package that I would not be responsible for the return shipment cost and he would email that in writing to me to confirm for proof if I need it he never did that.UPDATED : 2/26/24 package still was not shipped and order was not called as we had requested. Called again found the package in the warehouse in Michigan. Supposedly they would cancel it this time and we would get the refund within 2 days.3/1/24: still no refund.

Place lies about shipping, most people ordering parts aren't looking for them a week out when you advertise 1 day shipping. Absolutely disgusted with this business and would encourage all to avoid.

Do not shop here, do not work here. I stopped in today to submit an application. The representative at the front desk was very rude and GHETTO. He threatened me for no reason. I ended up taking my application back. This guy is instigating in front of customers a supervisor is sitting right there not saying anything... These companies will just let anyone work there I'm cool... No professionalism or customer service skills whatsoever. Some of these people are convicts and most of them do not know how to hold a conversation. I can tell that they hate their jobs...UGH...

I ordered parts a week ago part of the order shipped immediately and arrived a day later. Two days later another portion of the order arrived, fast forward to a week later and still waiting for the last part to arrive. I’ve called and emailed several times and get the same response “we are closely monitoring your shipment” and nothing else! I’ve delayed my repairs now and have had to rely on others for rides to and from work. Thanks for the inconvenience and hassle! If I could give negative stars I would. I will never order from this company ever again and will be telling every single person I know to not order from them as well. Thanks to this it will probably be another week before I have my own vehicle to use to get to work.

if I could give less than one star I would. the only thing worth a star at this point is Tyler from customer service taking control to make sure things are right. This was our first time doing business with with Detroit axle. it was awful and a waste of time. we purchased a power steering rack from them and when it came it had steel shot abrasive balls in the system. when I called I got ahold of Tyler who spoke with the Ferndale, MI manager about us driving out (an hour drive one way) and swapping out the unit with an actual good unit. In the meantime our technician is waiting for the part so he can make money. once our driver gets to Detroit axle the counter customer service is absurdly awful. two workers plain and simple telling our retired senior driver there is nothing they can do for him and that its not there problem. even though everything was figured out all the information was displayed at the time of arrival. mind you this was after he had to take a number ticket and wait while their buddies cut in line without taking a ticket. 60 minutes of back and forth until we finally got ahold of Tyler who promptly stayed on the line and got things taken care of like it should have been. 4hr process this was. Don't waste your time, even their best over the phone service call employee can only do so much to fix their terrible in person customer service.
