“This place had really great items like traffic lights, vintage clothing, toys, cups, coins, artwork and more. Coffee for customers and a restroom were available.
My only issue was I spent over 20 minutes in this store stood next to and was passed by, by employees or vendors and it was not until I checked out that I was spoken to.
I was very interested in the traffic lights for my garage however I was not going to spent that much money when I was not greeted When I entered or while I was looking around the store which I did numerous times since I was visiting from another state”

“My wife loves this place. I was a little leery of going alone to attempt to buy a gift for her but Erin was SO helpful and SO nice. I brought pictures of my wife's jewelry and Erin was happy to take a look and help with my selection. I ended up buying a necklace and earrings that matched a ring my wife had previously purchased from El Dorado. Erin's keen eye caught that ring in my pictures and made my gift giving so much easier.

“Great place to shop and also to consign. I usually donate all my clothes to SA and I decided to give this a try. I took my items and they looked through them while I shopped around. I was offered some cash-20 something or 40 something in credit. I took the 40 something and got 2 pairs of nice jeans! It was smooth sailing. The only reason I don’t give it a 5 is because I wish they would keep track of my credits. They are on a flimsy thin coupon which is so easy to lose!”
“These are the BEST resale stores ever. I have shopped at at least 4 of them, however the Warren store has been my favorite since 2011. My granddaughter has been shopping with me since she was a little girl, she's nineteen now and she loves shopping there as well. I tell people I meet all the time about this place when asked where did I get this or that, I proudly say Value World. I brag about you a lot. “Worth a quick stop to see what you can find. Lots of women's clothing, accessories, good service, and an adorable cat. There is a limited stock of men's clothing and most clothes you will find there are moderately priced, not many bargains there. However, you will find some really good deals on accessories and other vintage items. I would direct people to other places on Joseph Campau before this one, but it's certainly worth making a quick stop here if you're already there.”

“Hey guys dropping in for some QTNA, I just spoke with Tania and she was so helpful! Yes, Detroit Closet does buy shoes, clothes and accessories from 1-3pm on weekends. On weekdays it depends on how long they will buy but it’s based off their budget for the day. They open at 12 noon and close around 6pm. Hope this helps bc it helped me!”

“I see lots of low reviews on here but honestly I feel this is one of the best thrift spots in Detroit. People who complain about the closing time announcements should come earlier. These folks work hard all day long. If you’re complaining about prices, it’s definitely more affordable than any goodwill. If you don’t like the management or the prices then shop somewhere else. More for the people who appreciate this location.”

“Well platos closet is kinda like I they racist a lil I brung 2 new pair of kids Jordans dress out the box they said they can't take becuase of smoke I just a cigarette before walking in these shoes was never wore brand new box kinda mess up but the shoes where brand new in then I when in there fresh this not my first time experience this type of look first time my cloths was brand new Nike out fit that never been worn at all they said the couldn't take it these Jordans just came out in these Nike outfits was new it happen around 1:50 pm 09/04/2025 I'm like I shop here n the shoes they have be beat I swear I could easy get almost 90 a pair a shoe at a shoe store that trade shoes it's cool I took too a store in Utica got bless they brand new out the box”
“It's my understanding this is a new location. The store was clean and nicely organized. I thought the prices were fair. My only problem was there wasno one at checkout. When I first came in, I noticed another customer waiting at the front, then afee minutes later when I had something I wanted to buy, again no one was there. My husband had to go find someone because we stood there several minutes without anyone noticing. Maybe a bell, or a clear line of sight from the backroom to the front of the store is needed....just suggestions.”
