“I cannot say enough good things. This is BY FAR the cleanest thrift store I’ve ever been to. There were a lot of staff (all very friendly), the racks were immaculately neat and easy to shop and the offer I got for what I was selling was very fair! The product is fairly priced and they have a wide range of brands from designer to budget.
I only stopped in because I had a frustrating selling experience at a nearby Plato’s Closet and came here since I noticed it was close by. I don’t know why I haven’t been going here all along! I have definitely been converted to become an Uptown Cheapskate loyalist. I’ll be coming back again and again!”

“I came here today and my experience was pretty decent!😊✨ I spent a majority of my time of being in this store looking at the selection of bags that they had. I have a little problem with the bag section because they lack a generous amount of pink purses that are spacious or juicy couture.🫤 I did like a couple of the chocolate brown purses that they had along with this powder pink aldo satchel (which I purchased!!🤭) I just wish that they had a better selection of pink juicy couture stuff because I would love to get some!!🤗💗”

“Some shops feel like hidden treasures, and Closed Encounters is definitely one of them.
The moment I walked in, I was struck by how unique and stylish the clothing and displays were. What surprised me most was how affordable many of the pieces were, especially considering how unusual and carefully selected they felt. I spent quite a while trying to decide between a pair of pink pants and a knitted sweater before finally choosing something else—but I may still be thinking about that outfit!
The fitting room was comfortable, and the gentleman working that day was incredibly friendly and welcoming.
I also love the location. Situated across from The Road Less Traveled Books and near Vintage Inn shoe shop, it's easy to spend an afternoon exploring downtown Farmington, finding a new book, shopping for a unique outfit, and maybe even discovering the perfect pair of shoes to complete the look.
With entrances from both the front and back, a warm atmosphere, and fashion that's a little different from the ordinary, It is a wonderful hidden gem that's well worth a visit.”
