“My wife and I recently purchased a new construction home from Lombardo and used its mortgage subsidiary - Homesite Mortgage - for our loan. We worked with Phil Puchalski, who was absolutely great. He handled our application promptly and responded to each and every inquiry immediately. As a result, everything went very smoothly.
The only hiccup was that the 12-month rate lock we utilized was canceled two months prior to our closing date, due to market conditions. We understand that rapidly rising interest rates impacted the secondary mortgage market and Homesite's ability to sell our loan to a new servicer, but it still hurt. Looks like we'll be refinancing if/when the rates come back down again.
Overall though, getting a mortgage couldn't have been any easier. Phill was fantastic. So was Nermina, a customer service manager who handled getting our documentation through underwriting. Getting a new home is fun and exciting, but having to work through the mortgage process generally isn't. I can honestly say, though, that it was as painless as it gets working with Homesite.”
