“We got married here in August of 2023, and to say we had a great time would be an understatement. I've always dreamed of getting married by the water or in the woods, and this venue allowed both things to happen! We were there Thursday afternoon to Sunday morning, and we never got tired of the place. There is so much room for friends and family, and the property is loaded with activities (tennis, kayaking, boating, swimming, etc.) We were nervous that maybe the reception hall would feel too crammed during our reception, but it was very comfortable, and our guests had plenty of room to roam around. The landscaping was so beautiful and impressive, and the rooms and reception hall were very up-to-date and clean. Joy and her staff were so hospitable and accommodating to our needs. Please check this place out for future weddings, reunions, parties, etc! We cannot say enough great things about this place!!!!”

“Everyone I met at this location was incredible in every department. I was pleased. Stephanie was amazing at checking in, Brenda and Chris made breakfast a lovely experience, and America's housekeeping team was on top of everything. Definitely recommend this hotel.”

“Bummer the fair is nowhere like it used to be. 2 rides were broke down and there were a bunch of classic rides/games not there either. Will maybe try Ogemaw or Alcona next year.”
“We had the best experience at Sonshine barn! The staff is amazing and the facility was perfect. We spent the entire weekend there and everyone was talking about how many great amenities were available. We also used their decor company and both ladies were a dream to work with. Veronica was answering all of our questions in a timely manner and made my wife’s wedding dreams come true.”
