“Jeremey at American Automobile Collision repainted my dad's 1971 Honda CT70 Mini Bike. I'm thoroughly impressed with his knowledge and the quality of the work! Its hard to describe the thoroughness of the job. But he applied 2 coats of etching primer, 1 coat of primer sealer, 3 coats of color basecoat, 5 coats of candy tint and finally 2 coats of premium clear coat. It turned out beautiful! No exaggeration! Highly recommend his work! I will add a completed project photo later!”
“It is so refreshing to find a group of honest mechanics. These guys are the greatest. I came in there because my car door handle was not working. They were able to quickly take my door apart find the problem and fix it and not charge me an arm in a leg. I had taken it to auto lab a couple days because it was close. They absolutely did not take the time to diagnose it, but blithely recommended and said I needed a new door handle and wrote me a $550 estimate. Then I was so relieved to take it to Austin’s and find out that I just had a broken or loose cable. They fixed it for me pretty much on the spot. Thank You!”

My work was a longtime customer of finishmaster. When they went out of business, it threw a wrench. Some places we went to try to get our colors looked at us as a nuisance. Lapeer distributors were just some guys trying to help.

“So i was in an accident due to mdot negligence on i75. There was a lake covering the fast lane, and only the fast lane. Which caused me to hydroplane and hit the wall 65mph. Gerber collision was great. But my insurance company cheaped out and wouldnt buy or didnt want to pay for oem parts. So the bumper is received for my truck was aftermarket. It ended up not fitting properly. I noticed many things that were wrong, due to accident, the shop acknowledged them. They also ordered me an oem bumper. I complained to my insurance. They finally agreed. I'm telling you now, these collision shops are just soldiers. They take orders from the insurance companies. It doesn't matter if you have maxed out coverage or not. It doesn't matter if your entire vehicle, was sourced, all parts were manufactured in the US, and the vehicle was put together entirely in the US. The insurance company will tell the collision shop to use aftermarket Chinese parts, and or older used parts. Where for as much as we pay for insurance these days, its to build the back to the spec it was in before the accident. Now my truck had scratches. A ding. But was not structurally damaged in the sense of an accident. It had no accidents. But because of my insurance company being cheap, it looks obvious it was.
Thanks to the shop(gerber collision) they told me what to do and say to challenge my insurance. They gave me the confidence I needed to deal with it. The front desk individuals and the manager all were great and understanding. I mean that. Id recommend them to anyone. Remember they are just trying to piece something back together. But some times the insurance companies wont give them the proper pieces. They still have to make it work. They need to do this to make money as well. So their workers can put food on the table.
In the end, its not the collision shops fault. Its your insurance companies fault. You pay for what you get in life. But when it comes to auto insurance and home owners insurance... you never get what you pay.

“If I could give Auto Pride Collision more than five stars, I would.
From the very beginning, Amy and Stephanie were absolutely amazing. They were friendly, knowledgeable, responsive, and made the entire process incredibly easy. I received text updates every day about the progress of my vehicle, so I never once had to wonder what was happening or chase someone down for an answer.
My insurance situation was also anything but simple. The vehicle was insured through my dad, who has since passed away, the insurance policy was in another state, and the accident itself happened in another state. There were plenty of opportunities for that to become a complicated mess, but they handled everything seamlessly. I never felt like I was being passed around or left to figure things out on my own. They simply took care of it.
Then there is the actual repair. The car looks fantastic. You would never know anything had happened to it. The quality of the work and attention to detail were excellent, everything was done right the first time, and I have not had a single reason to take it back for an adjustment or additional repair.
And somehow, after all of that, they even finished my car earlier than promised.
Nobody wants to need a collision shop, but if you find yourself needing one, this is exactly the kind of experience you hope to have. Excellent customer service, great communication, beautiful work, and people who genuinely know how to take care of their customers.
