Russ fixed our car in a single day when we were stranded 6 hours from home when every other auto repair shop estimated at least 4 days. He explained everything thoroughly and was clear with pricing. He also told us what to tell insurance and sent pictures to provide them. He’s a super kind father of 3 who cares about his customers and you can tell!! Thank you so much Russ!

Without question, one of the best auto mechanic experiences I ever had, that’s saying a lot because at 47 years old, I’ve had more than a few. I was actually in Grand Rapids from out of town with my family and our Ford edge started showing that the engine would not stay warm and it would only put out cold air. Which was not great considering it was around 6° outside. I contacted advance auto After after contacting about an half dozen other mechanics around town, and he was able to get us within hours. He had the part ordered and replaced later that day. He was very easy to get a hold of, completely honest and forthright with what was going on with the car, and worked like crazy to get it fixed for us because we were departing town the next day. Was totally amazed. The only down side is Advanced Auto is a three hour drive from our home. He would be our go-to machanic if he were in our neighborhood.

Russ is always clear about issues and has a very fair price for the work he does. He gives realistic timelines of when work will be completed and lets you know if something changes.

Recently had my truck in for a repair on my windshield wipers and it was a first time visit. Russ promptly took my truck in and got right to work on it. It ended up taking a little longer than originally planned but it ended up being a good thing because Russ was able to address another issue with the wipers that needed to be taken care of, which I was thankful for because he took care of another problem I didn't even have knowledge of. He explained everything he did, what he found, corrections and repairs he made, etc. On top of great and thorough service, his pricing was more than reasonable and he also stands behind his work. I think it's safe to say I have found my new go to for auto repairs and I will be calling him for any future repairs.

I so appreciate the kindness of the owner today as I stopped in for help with a service transmission warning message on my 2012 Ford Focus. He was so kind to me. He was able to check the codes, explain the potential issue very well and offer a recommendation of what to do as there is a recall on the car model. Thank you for your help today!

I feel so lucky to have found this place! Russ is very transparent, fairly priced, and he took the time to explain everything to a car dummy like me. I came here initially because the location was convenient, but knowing what I know now, I would drive across town to have my car serviced here. I have a new shop.

Best mechanic in Grand Rapids. Russ is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and fairly priced. He always takes time to explain what he did with your vehicle, and lays it out in an open way. His work is excellent and I always feel like I’m getting a great deal when taking my cars to him! Highly recommend! Russ is the man!

My wife's car was experiencing some acceleration problems and had a tire pressure light on the dash. Throughout our experience Russ was super patient and helpful. When we came to pick the car up he sat down with us and gave us a detailed overview of everything he did, everything he recommends doing, and what that might cost in the future (and did so without mansplaining unlike what most auto guys tend to do). We live across town and he is worth the visit. Very reasonably priced as well.
