“I love this store and have consistently gone since they have opened in Ferndale. My kids also love it and have spent many birthday and Christmas bucks there. I have only had positive experiences, I really enjoy shopping around and always find something I end up buying. A weird experience when we went yesterday for my sons birthday. I think it was weird. The large squishy toys they had were kept behind the register and my son asked for one to purchase. He picked out other items, bought them and the squishy. I went to purchase my stuff and he showed me the squishy, I saw it had white stuff on both ends and glitter on some parts. I asked the employee if he could pick out another one, the employee said they aren't allowed to (ie: allow the customer to choose which squishy. That they're paying for. At a physical retail store). He did attempt to scrape the white stuff off with his nails with no luck. I asked the employee if he could trade it out then for one that didn't look so used. He said he wasn't supposed to, seemed annoyed, but he did trade it out. That one was clean and felt better/not stretched out. So, yeah, not a huge deal but left me with an ick feeling. I'm not sure how strict the policy is for employees to not let customers pick out the behind the counter toys, but feels like it could be relaxed for paying customers.”
