“A glamorous reinvention of a beautiful historic building, The Vault is an unexpected delight on my trip to Houghton. The 12’ + ceiling height in my room on the 3rd floor made the room feel very spacious, almost like staying in a castle. The building has new windows that are nicely sound-proofed from street noise and it was an overall quiet, restful stay with comfortable bed and linens. Modern bathroom amenities were also luxe.

The private basement lounge (open only to guests staying at hotel and a few club members) was a nice spot to end the evening and had a nicely appointed bar. A cozy, quiet spot to recount the day’s adventures.

The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast spread in the morning with grab-and-go coffee, tea, Chobani yogurt, juice, bagels, Nutella, etc. One other free perk—parking in a ramp directly across street from front door of hotel.

“My husband and I stayed here three nights on vacation in September 2025. We had a top floor water view room and it was spectacular. The hotel was so clean, and newly remodeled. We were impressed by the pool and the laundry facilities (used both), and the top floor bar made excellent drinks and the bartender was skilled and professional. The only downside to our stay was that there were some staffing issues so the bar was not serving food while we are there. A very minor hiccup in a nearly perfect stay!”

“needs to reprimand people that are staying there about their children letting them run the halls late at night and teaching them to be quiet in the hallways your manager did a poor job I will not be staying there again because of this reason children need to be watched not run the hall ???⛷️ someone needs to be the bad guy you need a hallway troll?”
