“Hi Friends- Wow what a day I had today! I finally drove to Kalamazoo, MI and visited Confections with Convictions for the first time. I had ordered on line in the past but this was the first time there. I should have gone sooner. The selection of delicious fresh made plant based/vegan chocolates, caramels, truffles and more is mind boggling. The variety of flavors and ingredients is just amazing. They use the best cacao and pure and unique ingredients. It was so difficult to decide what to select. The former founder/owner, Dale, (who still works there), was so kind and told us all about the creation of the shop, how they make the chocolates and all about the cause that is so close to his heart and the heart of the new owner Jennifer. They put their love, blood, sweat and I am sure tears into all they do. You can tell once you meet them and see the variety of handmade items available. It’s dizzying! Since we were first time visitors we received one piece of chocolate. I chose a vanilla Carmel and my husband tried the chocolate truffle. They were absolutely delicious. What I love about this shop is that every single item is a unique variety so if you are non-vegan you will even want to try the vegan chocolates and you will see they are just as delicious without the animal ingredients. Every vegan item is in a purple wrap and has a leaf ? logo so you can find them easily. It was very difficult, but we chose a selection of 12 unique vegan pieces and I LOVE the little box guide that we received so we can see which chocolates are which. It also lists all of the truffles and caramels they carry so I can start deciding what I will choose next! Just as we were about to leave I met the new owner Jennifer! I hope to see her again next time and wish her well on this wonderful adventure of chocolate with such a great cause. Enjoy the pics and stop in soon and often.
