“My daughters and I came into your store on the 18th. We wanted to just give a high five shout out to Lloyd who was our cashier. He did an excellent job! Gave excellent customer service, joked with us,.laughed and still did his job. Customer service is terrible in our current climate so we were very impressed with him and wanted his management team to know he should be your employee of the month.”
““I recently stopped by Family Dollar, and overall, this is a place I visit often and feel comfortable going to.
The environment is good, and the people behind the counter really make the difference. There’s a young lady there who is always welcoming, smiling, and positive whenever I come in—that kind of energy matters and makes customers want to come back.
On one visit, a friend of mine wasn’t allowed inside, so I had to go in for him. But my experience personally has always been respectful and smooth.
At the end of the day, it’s the people that make a place, and this team does a great job of creating a good atmosphere.

“I had a great experience at Family Dollar. I stopped in to grab some food before heading to the Red Roof Inn, and everything was convenient and easy to find.
What stood out most was the customer service. The young lady at the counter was very courteous, friendly, and respectful. That kind of energy makes a difference and keeps people coming back.
I go based on how a place treats people, and this location gets it right. Because of that, I would definitely recommend this store to anyone who follows my reviews.

“It’s honestly a bit hit or miss at this location, but I want to start by saying that Crystal is amazing. She is always kind, cheerful, and genuinely helpful, and she never makes you feel like an inconvenience. I usually leave feeling better than when I walked in if I interact with her, and I really appreciate that.
Most of the other employees are perfectly fine as well, but I’ve had a few uncomfortable experiences when asking for help - especially when trying to find the price of an item or understand discounts. At times, the responses have come across as impatient, rude, or condescending, which can make it feel uncomfortable or discouraging to ask questions.
I understand that everyone has off days, and I truly try to be patient and respectful. However, when this happens more than once, it starts to impact the overall experience. As a customer, especially someone who may already feel a bit anxious asking for help, a little kindness and patience can make a big difference.
I’ve worked in customer service myself, so I know how challenging it can be, but also how meaningful it is to treat people with care. I hope this feedback is taken as an opportunity to make an already decent location even better.”

“On Monday the 19th we stopped at the $ General. Our truck would not start after turning it off. Jose was on shift that day - He was so helpful and rushed outside and moved his truck and we were able to jump our vehicle. We were so appreciative and he did so w/a smile and genuine kindness. “After being a Comstock resident for 2 years now seeing what this little corner of kzoo has to offer it seems the owner or GM has a soft spot for hiring Comstock residents who truly need a job. Sometimes they put hope into people who mean well but aren't totally ready. It has caused the issues you read about in all comments below but those in there working everyday are normal people just trying to make like the rest of us. It is nice though finally walking in and seeing they hired the most beautiful young lady I've seen this city ?”
“I love this dollar general it's very clean well stocked the two hard working men that have been there for a while have been managing this store so well they are always willing to help all customers crazy thing is if you go up the street to family dollar it's woman that's work there that could NEVER AMOUNT TO HALF THE THINGS THOSE TWO HARD WORKING MEN DO FAMILY DOLLAR IS SERIOUSLY TRASHY AND FILTHY AND DISRESPECTFUL NOTHING IS EVER STOCKED BOXES ALL OVER THE PLACE TRASH AND JUNK UP AND DOWN THE HALL WAYS SOOO GREAT JOB HARD WORKING GENTLE MAN AT DOLLAR GENERAL !!”

“I came in here for a very specific shopping list, to look for manicure items and supplies for my scuba diving kit. I was able to score both sets of items at this family dollar. The location is convenient, in a strip mall on west main with other stores of various quality and price points, so if you can't get what you need there you can check here!”
“Used to be worth going in and getting a few things from but not anymore lady that was manger always made you feel welcome now some other thing is taking over she's living in a dream if she thinks she can deal with everything going on. Never will I go to this place again it's not a safe place too much danger going on here”
