“Great for hard to find items a traditional grocer like Harding’s doesn’t carry! The staples are quite a bit pricier but this is an independently owned and operated local business. There’s a heavy focus on local and healthy products. The deli is absolutely amazing and usually by far the most veggie / vegan friendly selection in the area. Plenty of parking in the huge lot that’s shared with a fantastic coffee shop and it’s right across the street from a beautiful little lakeside park.”

“Hardings is a good place for meat. Other products are more expensive compared to bigger stores. But their meat prices are sometimes even lower than bigger stores.”
“Small store. They didn’t have everything we like, but a lot of natural items that we buy on a regular basis. Very friendly staff who tried to help in any way they can. This is a co-op. I do like supporting organizations like this, in addition to getting a discount price on things.”

“International Gourmet Pantry is a great local grocery store for international foods, spices, halal meats, and hard-to-find Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, South Asian, and African grocery items. The store has a good variety of products, and it is very convenient if you are looking for halal meat, specialty spices, rice, tea, frozen items, sweets, and imported foods.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and the store is a nice option for students, families, and anyone who cooks international food at home. Overall, it is a valuable grocery store in Kalamazoo with a good selection and welcoming service.”

“Always good to come in and get whatever I need. Decent selection of items, the only problem is the foot traffic. It is usually hard to navigate the isles because of how thin they are compared to how many people visit.”
“This store is one I went to many times. I have been going off and on since the sixties, it has changed some in that time but still is a familiar place. Usually has good deals on meat.”

“Very clean and well-organized, they carry some items and brands that other well-known businesses don't. I also like how they always have great sales like 5 for $3, 2 for $5, etc. Definitely saves time and money over the other local stores, and right now don’t we ALL need that?”
“It's very clean and well lit, the employees are always working hard but I have a few gripes. 1. Doing bottle deposit is frustrating as they have an older unit in the back or something so every can needs to be rinsed out or they won't take it. I understand it's probably because sugar gunks things up quickly. 2. The shelves are stocked but sometimes there's weird omissions to brand flavors. 3. They seemingly only have one sign about being towed at only 1 entrance/exit and it just states that anyone can be towed
Otherwise to add some more compliments, the sushi here is really good, they prepare the sushi in store every day, and lastly the pharmacy employees are super nice.”
“Southwest Market is more than just a convenience store—it’s a place built on people and positive energy. Every time I walk in, I’m greeted with friendliness and respect. The owner has a great spirit, and we shared genuine laughter that made the whole experience feel real and welcoming.
Even while I was there, the beverage delivery guy joined in on the good vibes—we all connected, smiling and laughing. That kind of atmosphere is rare. You can feel the energy as soon as you step inside.
This place runs smooth because of the people behind it. Good energy brings good energy, and Southwest Market delivers that every time. I highly recommend stopping in and supporting them. Five stars all day.”

“They have nice fresh veggies and fruits , today first time I saw okra ( bhindi) though bit high priced but it’s nice they have them.
Store on West Main is really good though I am not sure of their replenishment times. If we need extra they do get from warehouse especially green veggies.”
““Lesman Market is a very important place on the north side of the community. It’s convenient for people who may not have transportation or the funds to travel to bigger stores. Places like this really help the neighborhood and serve a real purpose.
I’ve personally known one of the brothers working there for over 20 years—solid, respectful, and a good man. That says a lot about the kind of people connected to this store.
The owners, who come from different backgrounds, are giving opportunities to minorities and providing jobs in the community. That’s something we should recognize and support.
This is more than just a convenience store—it’s a place that helps keep the community going. Definitely worth visiting.”

“I went there to pick up a script for my Mother & was surprised to see that they had Glucerna by the case. My Meijer by me here in Westland doesn't carry it by the case anymore.”
“Best avocados in town.You have to ask for them and they bring them out from back.Great flavor and generous flesh.Reasonable prices and they have my favorite corn tortillas.”
“This pharmacy is ok. A little disorganized and slow, but the people are very friendly. I have had a few issues with them but nothing that would stop me from returning. The pharmacy techs and pharmacists are very helpful and willing to solve your issues if they are able.”

Jose was on shift that day - He was so helpful and rushed outside and moved his truck and we were able to jump our vehicle. We were so appreciative and he did so w/a smile and genuine kindness. “The TJ's experience is pretty consistent from store to store, but this location is great. Relatively new store, very clean, great staff that stays on top of stocking the shelves. Lots of surprise and delight discoveries to be found!”
