Another company not willing to take responsibility for one of their employees lying about waiving fees and deposits and apparently looking at my account wrong. Or maybe they were right and I was able to waive my fees and the employee, who I called to turn my electricity back on 24 hours later, was the one lying to me about not being able to waive my fees. Either way, I was lied to and BWL took no responsibility for their incompetent employees and us consumers get punished and burned for your mistakes. I’ve worked for plenty of places like you. 211 told me to not let DHS or BWL push me around and they were most certainly right that you were doing so. A DHS worker was on a 3 way call with me and BWL to help me pay off my big balance. BWL worker analyzed my account and said they could waive fees and deposits. The next employee tried saying I couldn’t waive fees and deposits. STOP PLAYING AROUND WITH ME. Start taking accountability for your employee’s screwups or at the very least stop being greedy. I love knowing humanity’s true nature is far from benevolence, pride, and common respect. Guess that means Christianity and my parents are also liars.

Not that this will do any good but for sure just another company to add to the list of companies that ignore issues, pay themselves and employees to never get any help resolving issues, half the place is probably stoned out of their mind its like talking to an empty shell of person who lack common sense and reality that's the world we live in today, accept the ignorance. apparently having an old meter they are reading from and billing whatever they want regardless if clear as day on paper shows concerns but they could careless.

Such scam artist. We had a credit plus an over payment that should have covered last month and most of this month but now I suddenly have an outrageous bill and it’s like my credit and over payment never existed. I called they have no idea what’s happened to my credit or over payment and they had the nerve to say I just had to pay it or they’d shut me off. The better business bureau needs to step in this is getting out of hand.

BWL doesn't care about people, just money. This is a very money hungry company. I missed one payment due to an unexpected car repair and they were very quick to cut off my service. Then they hit you with a $485 deposit fee plus a $60 reconnection fee which makes no sense. If a person was unable to pay their bill, what makes you think they can pay an additional $545 when they are already behind. Give people a break. You are the only company in the area so people have no choice but to use your services which mean you will get your money. Showing a little compassion, sympathy, or understanding goes a long way.

There was an outage this morning 6-29-24. I called the automated outage line and it asked me questions. One question was the 6 digit number of my house. Mine is only 4 digits. I put that in and it wouldn't work. After several other questions that it wouldn't take, I was transferred to a real person, who told me that there had been other people who notified BWL about the outage. Note that when I first entered the site it said there were no current outages. What a circus.

Hey everyone make sure you pay your bill early ....this is 100 % nonsense....I came home and my power was off...when I called for service I was told it was off...my bill isn't due yet....I will follow-up with the Better Business Bureau.....these companies are basically doing what they want to consumers.

I hate these people. When I moved into my apartment in Lansing, the apartment was ready for me, but my landlord needed me to connect with the BWL to initiate the electric services. They put me on a hold list that was hours long. They gave me an option to leave my phone number, saying that they would get back to me. They never did. I tried for a week to get ahold of them and heard nothing in return.

Had to make decision between light bill and rent. Knowing people been stealing my power and water for 3 years… I chose an other timezone instead. Highest costs in the country even when people aren’t stealing it.
