I can’t say enough about the food and service at this restaurant. The fish was amazing. I swear the fries were the best.

A shadow of its former self...just a bar with blah bar food now. After decades of being a top tier place, Covid crushed the life out of this old landmark restaurant. Main dining room is closed, only bar is open. So sad to see!

Their sign says "open Wednesday thru Saturday " opening at 4,,,, well there were several of us stood outside waiting. If they are not going to open they could put something on their sign or door.

Only go if there is no other option. We waited for a table although the restaurant was not busy. The host/waiter who ignored me, cut me off to give a message to a server when the other host/server led us to a table. The menu isn't great. Don't come if you want a salad. The waiter was snarky. The pretzel appetizer looked like it was doused in grease and the cheese came out of the microwave. The brisket and pastrami sandwiches were ok but not worth the rest of the experience. Overall disappointed.

We've driven by for years but this was our first visit. Super disappointed with the $22 smelt basket. So dry. It's sad that the kitchen would send this out to a table. If it looks inedible, it probably is. I feel like our server knew something was wrong but didn't ask.

We had a Ceaser salad with whitefish which was decent. I ordered smelt and it was horrible. Service was decent and the staff was friendly.

Sunday of the 4th of July holiday weekend around 6pm. We were seated immediately, server was wonderful. My husband had a deluxe pizza, our daughter a cheeseburger and fries, and I their half pound whitefish w/a side salad. We were more than happy w/everything, just delicious!

We have been going here for many years when we come to Leland. We usually get the whitefish sandwich. It's not what it used to be. Not much flavor. Not really worth the price.

It's beginning to show it's age: no upgrades, men's bathroom was not clean, in fact, I couldn't shut off one of the faucets that kept running after another man used it. We were there for lunch..... nothing to write home about. Chicken sandwich was bland. AND the what you REALLY NEED to know: NO MORE cinnamon rolls. "We can't find enough people to hire to even make them anymore"..... and it showed. I feel bad but this place has not been invested in or maintained like it needs to be. I'll keep my memories...but won't return. Too bad.

The staff was friendly, but I expected a lot better for a $16 chicken sandwich. My sister had the hot club and said it was great, wish I could say the same.

After checking the website for hours of operation we headed out from Traverse City to enjoy the local wineries and go to Blue Bird for dinner. We arrived at 7:30, well before the stated closing of 8pm only to be told that the kitchen was closing early, they would not seat us and that we should go elsewhere. When I asked to speak to the manager I was told by him that he was continuing to experience significant staffing problems in the kitchen. I do not recommend that you go to Bluebird restaurant until they can get their staffing problems resolved.

We went here while in Leland because we wanted something fish (its near Fishtown after all) but not a dinner. We ended up sitting at the bar, having a drink and an order of clam strips. They were not that good. Why doesn't anyone offer a fish type appetizer in Fishtown? Something like fish bites (small pieces of fried fish with tartar sauce)??? They'd sell a bunch of them.
