“I don’t say this much and reserve this to food I have truly enjoyed and in my opinion, taste good. The Wings special on Wednesday were big portion wings, unlike today’s commercial wings fast food places which as small and overcooked/dry and just soaked in sauce to cover the dryness. BBPS’s were cooked perfectly without it being dry, still hot inside after eating sometime. after ordering and not right away, with the homemade Parmesan Garlic sauce glazed over each wings, was the best I have YET to eat. Came back to try their local Michigan dish called a pasty that has been hyped about a-lot, so I was skeptical, I tried it and it was a pleasant surprise being the right portion for me and tasted the flavors. If I could describe it, it’s like having a pot pie wrapped in a crusty dough fully and tasty. I didn’t need to add anything’s as I feel that if you have to add ketchup or gravy, or whatever, to a dish that it can’t stand on it own taste, but to each their own. Also tried their chili and it met my conditions for a good chili, thick not runny, meaty ground beef with beans, and just the right spices for flavor. Tried their Philly Cheesesteak, and even thou I don’t order cheesesteaks sandwiches normally, and so I don’t have much to compare against, the portions of sliced meat with the veggies and cheese was, as you can see, very enjoyable warm and freshly made. I’m thinking about trying the Reuben sandwich or Fish fry tonight, Friday, given that they have gone 5 for 5 in food tastes. I’ve enjoyed so far. Lastly the carrot cake is moist and the filling creamy and better than one I had in Copper Harbor restaurant that claims to have a killer one.

If looking for a local, off the major road food stop for pickup, I highly recommend trying Belly Pit Stop and giving them a try. They certainly make food fresh, warm and a comforting taste that is better than most other restaurants these days.”

“The cottage was exactly like the pictures. Was perfect for my girlfriend and I. We came up for snowmobiling and the main trail was located very close to the property. Looking forward to returning in the summer!”

“My favorite place to stay in the UP. Right on Lake Superior. Great view from the rooms. I like to stay on the 2nd floor at the south end to get a little distance from the deck. The deck has great sunset views and is right on the water adjacent to Fitzgerald’s which has great food and an excellent beer selection. It’s just about the perfect stay.”

“The Lakes Motel is under new management with the exception of T.V. it is a clean with reasonable rates place to rest up for the weary traveler close to restaurants and bars as well a gas station it's a good deal for the budget minded”
