“All of my favorite rings and sunglasses have come from here! There is something for everyone and you could spend hours looking at all the treasures. Can’t wait to come back in!”
“I contacted Saper back in December of 2025, to inquire about their framing process and to figure out a rough project timeline. I had several similar projects completed in the past in another state, but Saper was unknown to me then. Specifically, I had one large piece of film memorabilia which needed some minor restorative work, and three additional autographed photos which needed custom framing and matting. Four projects in total.
I called first and spoke to Jennifer, who gave me some history about the business, which was established 47 years ago, and their philosophy as it pertains to preservation. Jennifer assured me that they use only archival-quality, non-destructive materials and processes to ensure the best possible results. Additionally, I wrote an e-mail and received a detailed, friendly response from Roy Saper almost immediately. I wasn't able to bring everything in until mid-January of 2026 because of some medical issues I'd been having, but once I was able to meet Jennifer in-person she was able to help me to make informed decisions about colors, framing materials, and types of glass. The price I was given was fair and reasonable, and I was told that the projects should take about six weeks to complete, because they were still backlogged after the holidays, which is understandable.
I did have one minor thing about the size of the matting that needed to be changed a day later, so I wrote another e-mail and once again received a very prompt and professional acknowledgement. Then, sure enough, six weeks later, I received an email letting me know that the projects were completed! I had some concerns about physically transporting them, however, so I called in to ask about what types of packing materials I should bring. Roy answered, and kind soul that he is, he offered to personally deliver the completed projects, which I graciously accepted. He wrapped all four projects with such love and care, and brought them to my house that very evening.
When I unwrapped them, I was delighted to find that everything looked amazing! Jennifer was the one who completed the restoration of the one larger item, and she did a fantastic job. Meanwhile, Nathalie was the one who crafted the three custom frames for my smaller 8x10 autographed photos, and likewise did a splendid job. Every detail was perfect, with an artisan's touch and a clear mind for historical preservation. I could not be any happier with the end results, and I will not only sing their praises forevermore, I will also continue to bring al of my future business there. Saper Galleries and Custom Framing is now my go-to spot for all of my bespoke framing needs. Thank you Roy, Jennifer, and Nathalie, for going above and beyond!”
“Kind of pricey. 80.00 for an initial on my ring finger. I know I know, trite but mine. Anyway. One color, black. Two touch ups included. But I love spies, sorry lost the spelling when I lost the card.”
“Thank you Linda. Restored a "family piece" that my Grandpa made from the 80's. The prices are extremely reasonable and the work is impeccable so if you can "PAY IN CASH" so this local spot can avoid the credit card fees for processing. The price you are quoted includes tax so it's just right to pay in cash. Our family will be bringing more pieces for restoration. Call and ask for Linda before you bring in a "repair piece" and make sure she's there to receive you. Thanks again for the amazing service. Definitely a local gem.”
“That is a beautiful place for our Hispanic Community, so proud that it features our heritage. Very friendly owner that lives there to open her ? to the community ??.”

“I checked out SCENE Metrospace a few weeks back with a friend to go see a band he knew about. Well, I don't think the band ever showed up (we left by that point), but I did get to check out the facility. The building that the gallery is in used to be part of Citizens Bank and it's evident - they left the big safe with the turnwheel intact. The current exhibit is "They Die In Pictures" and the gallery features contemporary art, including fashion, music, photography, paintings and the like. The only thing that bothers me about the space is that it's too stark - too open. there were plenty of things to look at on the walls, but there was something missing that would have given it that real gallery feel. By no means should it be cluttered, but it needs something else. I'm deejaying here for the East Lansing Art festival/Hip-Hop appreciation weekend, so that should be cool”
“Excellent customer service and quality with fair pricing for a professional framing service.
We had four art prints framed with Framers Edge over the last couple months and they were fantastic to work with on each one. Each frame was the ready-made variety, and we decided to upgrade 3/4 to the museum glass (provides UV protection and anti-glare). If you can afford the upgrade I highly recommend it, and it was very reasonable compared to what we expected to pay for museum glass online. They also were able to cut down the ready-made frames to a custom size for a small fee (I think about $20) which was excellent because most of the prints we ordered happened to be custom sizes.
All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. When I had issues with the frames, they were quick to address it with very little hassle on our end. One of our prints was done in a ready-made frame and the wood on it warped, which didn't become obvious until we had it on the wall. I called and let them know about the issue, and they were so kind about it and redid it very quickly. Another frame we had done stuck off the wall more than we wanted it to due to the mounting hardware used, and they replaced the hardware with something more low profile right away, for no extra charge. I so appreciated the great customer service in both these instances.
Overall, all the staff were great to work with and I would highly recommend this for anyone looking to custom frame and protect art.”
