“We truly love this pediatric office and have always had wonderful experiences with the providers. They are incredibly kind, attentive, and take the time to listen to every concern. I especially appreciate that they never make you feel rushed and are very willing to provide referrals or additional support when needed. As a parent of four children, that level of care means a lot to us. However, I was very disappointed with our most recent experience regarding the office’s late/cancellation policy. I knew ahead of time that I was running late, so I called the office before the appointment and specifically asked whether I should reschedule. I was told to still come in, so I did, only to arrive and be told the appointment needed to be rescheduled anyway. Later, I received a letter stating that we had failed to notify the office and that this counted as our first missed appointment warning. That was upsetting because I did exactly what I felt I should have done by calling ahead and communicating. Had I been told over the phone to reschedule, I absolutely would have. Instead, I packed up my child, drove to the office, and was ultimately turned away while still being marked as if I had no-showed. We own our own private practice, so I completely understand how important appointment schedules and policies are. That’s why this situation was especially frustrating. I still think very highly of the provider and the care we receive here, but I do hope communication and handling of these situations can improve moving forward.”
