I haven't shopped here in a year. Alot of improvements. The Homegoods area was nicely stocked and organized. Prices are reasonable, but not cheap. Nice conversation with a manager. Found exactly what I was looking for.

Great value for your buck. Southgate store is the Best, If you need furniture this is your place. Ask for Angie, she is the absolute best. Nicest person & sooooo helpful. Clean store. Bedroom, comforters, sheets, bathroom needs, towels, shower curtains & rugs galore.

The employee for the furniture section was no where to be found there were a few people waiting no call buzzer or bell finally went to the cashier at the front of the store. An Angie appeared from the vs l must of interpreted her rest time be aide she didn’t want to search for a couch for me, she said if I was told it’s in Flint, then I have to go there. I wanted her to look if there was somewhere closer and she wouldn’t. She seemed bothered and very u professional. I was very upset with her unwillingness to help me. I went to the cashier that gave her name and informed she was the furniture manager at when I asked who was her boss she was very reluctant to give me a name finally gave a Brian store manager, when I asked for a time I could speak to him, she replied I dint know I think he’s on vacation. Geez talk about covering each other. This was a very bad experience!! Big lists in Southgate on Eureka are not pleasant at all!!

Susan was such an AMAZING help when purchasing furniture for my daughter!! She went above and beyond to meet our needs!! She was so nice and that makes a HUGE difference when shopping!! Susan was happy to help and answered all of my questions!! Thank you Susan!! Anyone looking for a helpful hand at this location should ask for Susan!

The service was great I can't say anything bad about the customer service the two ladies I had to speak to were great. But the fan I bought I had to return it was missing pieces and nothing worked. So I had to return it. The girl was very nice and did not give me a hard time at all on the return so that was nice

Great place to shop if you track prices, some stuff is a great sale, some stuff is actually cheaper in the big box store.Check the dates on food items like cereal etc... It's usually very close to if not past the printed date on the packages.Furniture is cheap but comfortable, mediocre durability, may last a few years of lite to mid usage.

There was a situation that happened today at this location that had me rather upset. My mom, who is a disabled senior citizen & grandmother, was waiting in line to make a purchase. We waited about 5 minutes or more because the only available cashier was with a customer.No problem, we waited patiently, & then a customer came in bypasses, the line, walked straight up to the counter to make a return. We couldn't believe it. So eventually, I politely told the customer who was making a return there was a line which she ignored me.The cashier told her she ignored her as well! All of a sudden, the customer disrespectfully tried to escalate the situation & proceeded to start an argument with us! She then asked for a manager.Another employee came up to help her instead of us. The cashier told her co-worker we were next, & she ignored her & proceeded to check out the customer who cut the line.Then the manager came & spoke to her for just a second, then came down to talk with my mom only because my mom requested him to do so. He proceeds to tell us well nothing I can do about she's already being rung up!He then says, "Well, just calm down she wasn't aware there is only one line. She knows next time for future references. "At that point, I was upset with him because I felt the situation was handled incorrectly.I told him see that's the problem! She WAS aware but didn't care. She will continue to have that attitude because she was catered to.So, her behavior will continue to be just that entitled! Meanwhile, your loyalty customer, who is making a $400 purchase, not returning anything, was mistreated!I didn't appreciate it at all. We are frequent shoppers of this particular loacation & never once had an issue until today!I also work in customer service & would have handled the situation a lot better. Bottom line, treat others how you yourself would like to be treated. If this was your disabled mom waiting in line patiently, how would he have handled the situation?Unfortunately, I will no longer be shopping at this location. I would have also left my items in line because of the lack of concern for customers. But my mom wanted her items & made her purchase.To the two older cashiers who were there, Kudos to you ladies, for stepping up to help us & trying to intervene. I was so upset. I wish I had gotten their names, but they were excellent. Thank you ❤️As for the manager & cashier who rushed to help the customer who cut the line. You both need better customer service training.I will be calling corporate to let them know of the situation.

Big Lots has grown up! The staff is friendly (epically in South Gate) and their products have improved alot.
