I’m feeling a kind of way. The nail work at this salon, particularly by the lady in the first chair facing the door, is very well done, she’s clearly talented with designs and decor. Unfortunately, her attitude came across as unwelcoming and dismissive. No matter how skilled the work is, customer service and demeanor matter just as much, and the overall experience made me not want to return.

Poor Customer Service & Discrimination:
On April 6, 2024 I visited GiGi Nails to get acrylic nails done. Upon entering the lady who always sits at the station close to the front ask what I wanted to get done, I told her and she assigned a guy to do my nails. In the midst of getting my nails done I noticed that the guy was a little inexperienced as he was not doing my nails properly. I had to be pointing out faults that needed to be improved and then he would go over it and it would look even worst. I also noted that we had a communication challenge as he was not fluent in English and was not understanding me very well. For example when I pointed out that the polish was not being applied properly (it was lumpy), he kept saying "pretty color." I first called a lady at far back for assistance but she did not come over to ask me anything only spoke to the guy in Vietnamese. I realized the guy was still applying more polish trying to improve on what he did but it was making it worst. I then called on another gentleman there who had done my pedicure a month ago and he totally ignored me. I then reached out to the lady at the front who assigned the guy, she sat across from me and she totally ignored me. She did not even make eye contact.
The client who she was attending to had to say to her, "she is talking to you" and still she did not even look up nor speak to me. When the client left, she said something (in Vietnamese) to the guy doing my nails after which he started to remove the polish in a hostile manner using a tool. The tool cut my finger and it started to bleed. The lady at the front station who is more fluent in English still did not come over to speak to me to find out my complaint nor apologize on the guy's behalf for my bleeding finger. All I wanted was for someone to assist with communication and help the guy to fix my nails.
I am assuming that the lady with the blonde streaked hair that does nails at the front station was in charge since she assigned workers to customers. I noticed that, that same lady was pleasant and laughing and chatting with all other clients (white) who walked in after she totally ignored me. One of her clients pointed out that I needed assistance but she still ignored me. The client then looked at me in shock.
I decided that I would then leave after being there for about 1.5 hours to get my nails done elsewhere. This was after the guy removed the polish off all my nails and my finger was bleeding. They then told me to pay US$25 for the unfinished work. I said ok and I asked my husband who was on the phone listening the entire time to come to the place as I didn't want to express my frustration and be characterized as the "angry black woman." When my husband arrived, the same lady who didn't speak to nor assist me immediately got up to speak to my husband who happens to be white. She was trying to justify her behavior to my husband by stating that it would have been unprofessional for her to speak to me while she was doing her client's nails. Poor excuse! because even when her client left she did not speak to me nor assisted her colleague who seemed to have been pretty new and inexperienced. She even left a client to speak to my husband.
After being there for 1.5 hours, I had to leave to get my nails redone at another nail salon.
Going to get a manicure and pedicure is suppose to be a relaxing experience but I was left to feel invaluable on that day. No one listened to my valid complaint, no one tried to help the colleague who was inexperienced with acrylic nails, no one apologized for the unsatisfactory work. Since my patronage is not valued I will not be going back to that place. The nail service would have costed about $50-$60 so I think its not unreasonable to want my nails to be done properly.

Per eyebrow wax- The visit is usually good but the last few times they will put people in front of you if it's not a nail or Pedicure service....totally unfair if I was there firrs and told 5min!!

Updating my review: I called and spoke to Jenn on Thursday to book an appointment for Saturday at 1pm. I come in for the appointment on time and Jenn takes someone else. I tell her the day and time we spoke and when she booked me. She's telling me I spoke to someone else and she has the other lady at 1pm. I've been coming here for YEARS, I know who I spoke to and scheduled with. She proceeds to start on the other lady and just ignored me even though I was sitting there, waiting for my 1pm appointment that i scheduled with her. I ended up walking out and won't be back. I wasted time and gas driving over 30 mins for this appointment. I no longer recommend this place for service. You're not gonna play in my face and waste my time as long as I've been coming here.

I went here recently to get my acrylics removed and the man who removed them filed my nails down so much that some of them bled and the others are extremely sensitive. I told him it was hurting and he apologized and then continued to do it. I previously had gone here for a pedicure and the same thing had happened, he filed so close to the skin that it bled. Extremely painful.

Got there at 1 didnt leave till 6pm my feet still feel rough after my pedicure DO NOT LET the guy do FRENCH TIPS they serviced 3 other people before they attempted to fix my toes (lines were crooked and uneven) but the young lady that did my nails was great

Lisa is really great. Best pedidure and leg massage. Not rushed at all. She takes her time. Looking forward to returning again. She speaks very little english as does most of the staff there.

Wouldnt recommend they will have you waiting 2-3 hours taking others before you nails doesn’t last very long they don’t give u exactly what u want & how u want they’re too rough always stopping toTalk & laugh I just wouldn’t recommend coming here EVER

I went yesterday and I was very upset when I left I asked for pink and told the women doing my nails I needed to leave at 10:45 she told me multiple times I would be done but I still didn’t leave till 11:05 and I got there at 9:30 and I had another appointment at 11 my nails are chipping already and are not the shape I even wanted and she painted them white instead of pink I told her after the fact to just do my nails all white after she had already painted my one hand white when I wanted pink.Service: Acrylic nails

This has been by far the worst manicure I have ever gotten in my life. The shellac kept getting fuzzies on it from his towel, and instead of taking them off, he was painting over them. one of my thumbs got messed up and the shellac was peeling off so he just painted over it so now it's super lumpy. Some nails have shellac all the way up to my finger so I'll know it's going to peeling off within a week. He convinced me to get the manicure and my cuticles look worst than when I walked in..
