I originally took my windshield/car in for a replacement at Safelight in Wyoming as it had cracked due to a rock chip. 2011 Honda CRV.Soon after, the new windshield started to crack. At that time, I had it sitting in the parking lot. This time the crack was underneath the windshield wipers.They almost made me pay for a new one again because they didn't think it was their fault. They didn't think they installed it wrong. But it made no sense how it cracked underneath.I eventually got ahold of customer service who agreed it wasn't our fault. We moved to Michigan at the time. So they made a warranty appointment for there and got it replaced.Then I had a whole issue of the seal coming off from the top of the new new windshield. Made another warranty appointment and got the seal fixed.Well the windshield now whistles. It gets worse whenever you drive at higher speeds. Took it in yet again for that issue. They said they fixed it, but na it still whistles.Another warranty appointment today for the whistling... they actually seemed to want to solve the problem this time...Molding clips need to be replaced. Looks like they replace the glass every time but reuse the same clips. And now they are messed up or something. So they are putting them back on for now and going to order some new ones. Will call me when they are ready. They think that will fix the whistling issue.3 weeks and I never got a call from them saying my parts were in. I tried calling every number I could find on Google. Couldn't get a hold of them. Ended up stopping in and they acted like they had no clue what I was talking about. They rechecked my car and actually ordered the parts this time.A few days later they called, said the parts were in from the dealer and made an appointment. So today was the time. After they finished their work, I went 5 minutes down the road at 45 MPH and it was still whistling.So I turned around, went straight back and they were closed! I had their direct phone number for this location from when they last called. Obviously didn't answer, but I couldn't even leave a voicemail. The hours on the door said they were open till 5 on Saturdays, and we were back (2nd time) at 3:15. Windshield STILL whistling.

Here in the lobby and my windshield has been the biggest problem child for everyone, the super friendly group of people at this location are such a breath of fresh air, since I’m always worried about being treated rudely at any repair shops.Definitely not here though. Wow. What a group of people.

Claims person tells me it's gonna be a couple of hours tops, then when I come in I'm brusquely told that it'll be by the end of the day and that that is how it is and deal with it. SafeLite refuses to cover the expense of transportation but still fine with charging me hundreds of dollars for my windshield that they can't install at my house and instead I have to drive down to suburban Trump sprawltopia and hang out for up to and including eight hours. Then when I DID drop it off, I had made it halfway home, and someone was like, "oh, we can't do this repair, you have to take off your roof rack." So I had to head back. I planned on being home before noon, then it's more like 3pm. Called SafeLite and they were like, "uh, sorry, nothing we can do."The glass is fine!

So, the good thing was that my windshield got replaced and it looks great!The less great stuff involved the logistics of making it happen. AAA told me that I would have an appointment set up and a specific time and that I would drop off the car and expect to have it done in a couple of hours. When I arrived, and later confirmed by the person who worked there, it turned out that this was set up as a drop off appointment during which I just leave the car there for 8 hours or something. I had not planned on this so I was basically stuck down in suburban sprawl hell with no easy way to get home. Of course, the crew at Safelite was basically like, drug, not my problem.When I was halfway home on the bus, I got a call from their tech saying that I had to come back because they needed me to take the roof rack off the car, without which they wouldn't be able to install a new windshield. I had not been informed about this and it still doesn't really make sense to me because of how the trim strips attach, but I wasn't going to just waste an hour driving back home, so I took off the roof rack there. A tech graciously reminded me that if I left the rack in the alley, they couldn't be liable if someone stole it. Thanks, boss! Super helpful.Anyway, I feel like this was all just a whole thing in which they dropped the ball and then wanted to blame me for not reading the fine print, but I had been explicitly told that this was an appointment, so I don't understand why it worked out this way. My big thing is that this isn't some too bit operation, we pay exorbitant prices for car repair and insurance, and in this case, neither AAA nor Safelite seems to want to take any responsibility for screwing up the communication We pay hundreds of dollars a month for a single vehicle because our insurance rates are outrageous, and the best I can get is spending an entire day in scenic Southgate, Michigan.

In march of this year both my wife and I had our windshields replaced at the Southgate Michigan location. Neither experience has been positive.For my Impala the windshield wiper fluid sprayer was damaged. Working form home and not driving much in the spring it took a while to notice and I had no recourse with the shop. Looking at the damage the sprayer was clearly pushed down and easily could have happened during the repair, but was not identified when it should have be the installer.My wife had a crack appear at the top of her glass. The shop is saying it was caused by external damage pointing out a spot over a foot away from the crack and really had no interest in customer satisfaction when discussing this problem, as well as the past damage issue with the manager. No interests in making things right, just getting people out of the lot.When Safelight references their nationwide warranty it apparently doesn’t cover the things they break or the work they do.

Rude service persons. Very expensive quote to fix a small windshield chip. It looked like they didn't need anymore business. Didn't even look at my rock chip.

Made an appointment for repair and missed it due to a medical emergency. Rescheduling was quick and easy and the repair went as expected. Would definitely go back for next issue.

Customer service was not very good. I came in to get some information about a claim through insurance. After that I asked to have my windshield just taped up and they refused to professionally seal it because i had a trash bag with duck tape covering and said that was good enough. Extremely disappointed as a lot of people had recommended they could tape up my windshield for the time being. And the guy was very rude about it

I used to like them years ago when they had people who answered their phones. But u i called a few times today and ever recording only offer to go on line. I could not talk to a person it just says on line and hangs up. So they lost my business for good now. And I only pay out of pocket
