My beardie wasn't acting like himself so I scheduled him an appointment. The staff was really good with him even though he had a little attitude & acted more like a dog. He was tryna be a biter, luckily they did extremely with all his attitude and gave him the care he needed. Kinda pricey from the last vet he went to but it beat the 30 min drive to Ann Arbor.

I had an appointment for my sick cat today and had waited several weeks to get an appointment as most vets aren't taking new clients or have a long waiting list. I received the email confirmation for the appointment with date and time. When I showed up today I was told I wasnt on the schedule. I showed the receptionist the email I received with confirmation, date and time and I was told they didn't understand why im not on the schedule but that were already booked. Her and another lady at the desk treated me like this was my problem, not theirs. I did NOT a receive an apology, I wasn't offered any options or accommodations. They didn't didn't seem to care and I was left standing there and asked if they could please see my cat as I had an actual appointment. I sat down to wait and the other lady told me i could fill the form out. She told me with annoyance that next time I need to call and not schedule online as if I was my fault. I felt so beyond frustrated. She could of been nice but instead she was rude. So I left. I made an appointment, got a confirmation and showed up on time expecting to been seen and instead I got disrespected. Shame on the 2 ladies at the desk!!!! You work at a vets office and had zero compassion for someone with a sick cat when you guys made the mistake

They don't care about the well being of your pet they only care about billing you for services. I purchased flea and tick from another source because it was the same product but half the price. They declined approving the prescription because it wasn't going through them. They didn't call me to schedule an annual visit. They didn't communicate with me in any way. They just told the third party they wouldn't allow the flea and tick medicine. Then literally a day later I get an email from them trying to sell me THEIR flea and tick medicine. This isn't a veterinary it's a money generating business ONLY!!! Take you pet to someone who actually cares and isn't just there to bill you money!

My dog has been a patient there for several years. Pre-Covid I think it was a little better but they definitely had some odd rules. Having dog owners have proof of Covid vaccines and boosters to call from the car, be let in, remain in an isolated room with where staff wears masks- I'll say, hospitals don't even require it, but to each their own on that one. Just show a picture of a random vaccine card off the internet if you didn't get the jab and want to be in the room with your dog. Last year my dog wasn't doing too well, she had had all her bloodwork and I was told I could just call to get a refill if she needed more pain medication. Instead of refilling her medications they offered me another appointment 3-4 weeks later. She had another issue where her eyes were bothering her, she was 10 at the time. Diagnosis was entropy. They gave me meds and the situation got worse. I ended up taking her to MSU (who got her in with a specialist in 2 days) to find the eye medication given would actually cause damage and eye ulcers. The treatment was a petroleum based lubricant. I took her back to Southgate for her regular checkup explaining that I thought her eye symptoms might be systemic because she had now developed interdigital cysts and had dander. Her mood was also down. I thought I was going to lose her soon. They said she was in pain and to keep on the pain meds and wanted to do more eye exams, which I declined (MSU was handling that) Through a lot of reading I decided to try something. I had some steroids that I dosed according to her weight. Surprisingly, her symptoms relieved. I also put her on a fresh diet. One other thing. The pain med, every time I gave it to her, it caused her to itch and flare up. Discussing this, they refused to switch to another. I was able to give her marijuana butter and alternate on the steroids which kept her pretty happy and playful. Sadly Penelope passed early in 2023. She was the best English Bully I have ever had and gave me 10.5 years of unconditional love. 4/2023 I ended up with a new bulldog puppy. It wasn't planned, but everything happens for a reason. I had had him 4 days and he started with diarrhea the persisted more than 48 hours. He was 8.5 weeks old. I called the vet and was told they could get me in later this month. When I explained again this puppy is 8 weeks old and I'm concerned with Parvo and he may die before that appointment, they said "sorry that's all we have." I requested she go ask the Doctor if that was reasonable. She came back on the phone and said, unfortunately, there is nothing available. This was a Tuesday. She said I could go ahead and Google an emergency vet. This message is for the Doctors at Southgate. We pet owners look to you to treat our animals with the best care possible. You are their primary caregivers. We understand you get busy, however it is the relationship that we build over the years that allots is the privilege to be seen in emergency situations as well as listened to in all situations. I feel as though I gave you more than enough chances to care for my dog, my foster, and attempted to bring my new pup there and you've failed. For all of you seeking a wonderful vet that accommodates schedules, I have been to Ford-Caputo twice already. I was referred by someone who loves them as well. They are in Dearborn Heights. I can say- it's worth the drive. They got my Moose in same day to evaluate his poops and he's happy and healthy!

This vet has been great for years my dog has been going there since he was born and is 13 now. Unfortunately he has not had to see the vet in almost 4 years and now they won't see him because he's considered a new patient because he hasn't been seen since 2019 and they are understaffed. Unreal

These are top notch vets. When you want the best, come here. They may not be the cheapest, but I know what's going on with my pet (they've seen my birds, rabbit, cats, etc. over the years) and why they're doing whatever test or treatment they're doing. They are not afraid to recommend out to specialists when necessary, as they aren't about their ego, but what is best for your pet. Fantastic bed side manner, very knowledgeable- just the whole package when you're looking for a good general practice vet. I haven't specified a particular vet, because I've seen them all, and each one was been equally compassionate, caring, and knowledgeable. I almost hesitate to recommend them because they've been difficult to get into since before even before C-d hit, (and they do ask you to wait in your car and mask, even if vaccinated).

For the last 3 years, our baby Kevin has been going here. Every one of the staff members here have been amazing and Kevin loved going to the vet, which we know is rare! We could tell how much love and care every doctor, tech, and receptionist have given him. We unfortunately had to say goodbye too soon due to bone cancer, but we are so thankful for the years of love and care for our sweet boy. Thank you all so much for all you do! Kevin loved you and so do we!

From my personal experience I can tell you that Mrs. Jenifer smith is one of the best binary options/forex managers I have met in a while. I had lost over $3000 on the advice of managers who have little to no experience. Today I remain grateful to Mrs. Jenifers mith for coming through for me during my early days of trials and errors.

I called a dozen vets and they were the only one who would see a rabbit I rescued. They were very quick, caring, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. I highly recommend them and definitely will be bringing my pets here if I need them to be seen.

I have been a customer of Southgate Animal Hospital for over 20 years. Last Friday I called to get my cat examined, he has only eating a small amount for about the last 6 or 7 days, and having major issues with bowel movements, unable to pass them. I was told that they would they would not have appointment until July, and that I should take him to an Emergency vet. In the past they would always find a way to get my animal in to be examined as soon as possible. So now I was unable to get my cat examined any where, and will try again on Monday, and hope I can find a vet somewhere. I wish they would reconcider as I prefer there Vets.

Found a baby bunny that was injured and called numerous places and when I called them there was no hesitation to bring it there. So thankful for the compassion they showed when i called and dropped it off. Thank you very much. Bless this vet and staff

I think they do good work here and are thorough and compassionate usually. This time was very different. I understand during COVID, extreme measures must be taken but having been here before and understanding the office layout, they went too far. Our dog has an appt as her health had significantly deteriorated. After examination it was determined she was not going to live very long and would experience more and more pain as the days went on. We were torn up and planned on going to visit and say goodbye and the. One of us would go sit with her through the end while wearing a mask. They said no. Really? We were allowed to visit outside by our car but then they would take the dog and out her down with no family present. Covid or not, that's heartless. Knowing what we know we could have work a mask. Gloves, goggles, whatever it took. They have a back room we could have entered and exited through the side door to not come into contact with anyone. We took the dog and went to Riverview Animal hospital. They had no appointments available but stayed late to help us out and kept a back room available and allowed up to 2 people to be in there with our dog. One of us went in. It's hard enough putting down a loved one, but to abandon them when they are hurting and afraid seems inhumane. Thanks Riverview for having a heart. 2 stars because I think they do good work. But if you find yourself in this situation, it pays to not accept what's unacceptable. It worked out better too. We took her to get chicken nuggets and sit in the sun and watch her kid at the park for a while. A stress free final hour.

Dr Eileen and the staff at Southgate Animal Hospital are THE MOST caring and dependable! They go above and beyond the expectations for caring for my ferret and I wouldn’t trust anyone else!
