The food is good but not outstanding. They charge you for a cup even if you’re purchasing a canned beverage! My 85 year old grandmother shouldn’t have to slug Coke from a can when sharing a soda. Then you see there are small free cups available by the water dispenser but no one tells you until it’s too late. Also, it’s not OK to wait 40 minutes for a sandwich no matter how good it may be or how busy they are. Their lack of workforce or their inefficiency shouldn’t mean a 40 minute wait on my part.

Always love this spot, just a pure lake (MI) vibe. However, last couple visits just ok. Breakfast sandwich, waited 30 minutes for order, which was fine. Stayed to eat, it was on the warm/somewhat colder side. I know they are packed with orders, but there needs to be a better way to get people through.

Reviewing the coffee- we had the seasonal strawberry vanilla cold brew with its vanilla cold foam. It was one of the best coffees I’ve had this year, so good that I went back and got it the next morning. The drip coffee was nothing crazy, just a dark roast that wasn’t stand out, if you’re coming for coffee, go for one of the specials. We chose not to eat here because of the line, it’s seemed like many people had been standing around waiting a long time for food. I heard one man say he had been waiting for an hour and 15 minutes.

Been going to the whistle stop pretty much since it’s opened and have always loved it. Today sucked though, imagine paying 8 bucks for grounds in your coffee. Couldn’t even drink it and the line wasn’t worth the wait to try and get other one. Staff seems a bit lost and not trained enough

I wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, it was a terrible experience. We ordered and paid for our food and drinks. The lady in the register did not label the order with the name. We waited at least 40 minutes or more for the order and asked where it was; nobody knew about it, and they dismissed it. My husband had to show them the transaction on the bank account so they could try to figure it out. It is a cute place, but they must figure it out during the busy season.

I'll be whistling with delight the next time I don't stop here! With the sky high new puffalo prices I'm genuinely surprised by them not putting a few of their jacked margin dollars towards being like every other coffee shop ever and having restrooms for customers instead of a hot stanked Porta potty in back. Kombucha a lot like the decor, tame, not really booch if it ain't crispy.

Used to be great. Haven’t been here in 5 years. Sandwiches were very expensive, took 45 minutes, and were disgusting to eat. Neither of us could finish them. Such a shame. I was looking forward to it. Also no more fresh squeezed juice or curry salad. Sad to see the place decline.

They were out french bread. I asked if they have anymore in the back. They told me it was just for sandwiches. So I asked if they can bake me a loaf which thy will. The girl behind her told me and waving at like a major league umpires giving me the save sign saying where out no more for the weekend. Sorry I asked.

Great food, great display of baked goods from their own and different bakeries. We had breakfast sandwiches which were good but because we didn't eat them right away the scrambled eggs made the bread a bit soggy. Herb aioli was amazing.

Beside watching out for traffic on Red Arrow Highway this is a stop to be on the look out. Ordering is well covered by an online service as in store orders almost too much for a one time visitor. But beyond the Net a walk-in has the rewards of finding deserts and coffees that again shows it’s worth traveling the Red Arrow Highway through Michigan.

Such a cute cafe and the employees were so friendly and joked around with my fiance which made the whole experience even better. We both got an iced white chocolate mocha strawberry latte and it was very good. Would definitely stop by again.

Stopped here yesterday with my fiancé. It had been in my want to go list for awhile, and actually I had tried once but they had just closed, so this was a nice take 2. It is small, but it's full of cool gourmet items and a nice little cafe! We both ended up getting a white chocolate strawberry latte, which were good and surprisingly filling. The staff here were also super cool, and the reason I decided to give it a 5 instead of a 4.

I had the salmon bagel new years day and have been thinking about it almost every day since. Will 100% be routing this into every trip we take to MI.
