“I have owned multiple animals, (large and small) for 50 years and have lived throughout the US. As a result, I have worked with many veterinarians (45? 50? No idea.) Dr. Cripps is one of the top three. He is a GREAT diagnostician and relies on his experience before he recommends expensive tests. (In my opinion, younger vets especially go immediately to them.) He has proven to be better at diagnoses than many vets at MSU, a fine teaching school.
He is kind and.patient with all of my creatures and respects me as a client. He also has a fine sense of humor, which must be crucial when dealing with many pet owners. (Pets, not so much. ;-))
His office staff is small, but I have found both Ms. Elizabeth and Ms. Sarah to be efficient, capable and pleasant. They're good at returning calls if you leave a message. You have to wait in your car before you're admitted, but Dr. Cripps is unfailingly punctual if you are. All three of them work effectively with Chewy and other online businesses for animals.
I've worked with 10 other veterinarians in the Lansing area, including emergency clinics and MSU, during the 30 years I've lived here. I have no problem changing vets if I'm dissatisfied with their abilities.
One has retired, but otherwise I have never had one as good and certainly none better. I am hoping Dr. Cripps works until he's at least 150 years old so I never have to find another.”
“I've taken my cat sassy and my dog stinker and my cat Ginger to Lincoln Park vet and they are extremely professional, knowledgeable and super friendly and they take great care of my Fur babies.Dr Kelly is awesome and so sweet to my babies and me.I feel great about going there.I just wish that the rates were much cheaper.They're so expensive but everywhere is.”

“Our dog was very very sick. We had 4 vets from a different vet practice tell us there was nothing left to do to save her. During this very difficult time Dr. John returned my call and shared that he wanted to help. Not only did he make our dog comfortable that night (after hours) by calling in medication, he followed up for the days on his own time. He truly saved her life when multiple other vets gave up way too soon. I have never seen a vet office with such compassion and dedication to sick animals. They truly care and go out of their way to help. My dog went from having a scheduled appointment to put her to sleep to feeling the best she has felt in years. She is happy and doing so well. I am forever grateful for west Woodward animal clinic and highly recommend them! They answered every single question and explained all outcomes. They were realistic with her possible prognosis but worked so hard to make our dog better. They also have very fair prices and in no way try to scam or do unnecessary testing to make money.”

“Very patient, and informative after growing up on a farm and owning all sizes of pets, they were very informative, explained everything so that I could understand it, ( many clinics I've been to, talk over my head, like I'm the Dr, they put it into terms I could understand, never at anytime did I feel like I was rushed through the visit, will be making appointments for all of my pets here, they made me feel like I was more of part of the family, than a distant cousin. Thanks for the heartfelt care, and the knowledge I gained just from taking my dog here.”

“The Dr's always do a great job with my dog. I just wish the front desk staff was friendly. I'll go in there, and there is no hello and no eye contact...until they are ready to talk to me. I feel unwelcome. The techs and Dr's are always amazing!”
“I gave the doctor a 4 rating since he's a sweetheart. He doesn't have any help. There is a long wait time despite your scheduled appt... His website states that his business opens at 9 am but he's never there. Dr. Francis' doesnt arrive until after 2 p.m.. He does however work later than his scheduled end time. If you can tolerate the long wait you'll interact with a wonderful kind doctor. Someone please apply for employment there and take some of the workload off the poor guy.”

He was tryna be a biter, luckily they did extremely with all his attitude and gave him the care he needed. Kinda pricey from the last vet he went to but it beat the 30 min drive to Ann Arbor.”

“I had taken my cat here for several years. Dr Crawshaw and Dr Poindexter and all the staff are very friendly and attentive. The last year of my old boys life we were there monthly for Solensia injections, they were always great with him and were there for us at the very end. They also offer boarding and grooming on site.”

“We recently added another four legged family member to our household, that we adopted through one of MACS adoption events. The adoption process is affordable and not a lot of paperwork. Upon arriving we met Stephanie, told her a bit of our household background and what we were looking for. Stephanie was determined help us choose a dog that would be a good match for our current dog, Toby who was also present to choose a new friend. Stephanie was patient with us while meeting animals and trying to make a decision, she was also very helpful with all our concerns and questions. She had a calm no pressure kind of approach which I was very impressed by. Toby now has a new friend! A vey big thanks to MACS and people like Stephanie that are determined to find all animals a loving home. Thank you MACS for helping us find our perfect new family member.

“Our experience with healing care was fantastic. All of the staff was super friendly and caring towards my pets. I love that they refer to all of the pets as "babies" and not just the cat or the dog. After my cat got neutered, I got a call the next day asking how he was doing. I may switch all of my animals to this vet for future care.”

Not a new and fancy building, so if that is what you are looking for, you might be disappointed, but Dr. Herzog is a local treasure and will take awesome care of your pet. Also, their fees are very reasonable considering how expensive some vet care can be. Not looking forward to finding another practice when he eventually retires.”
