“A well run center with caring staff and a wonderful focus on outdoor play. The fenced yard surrounding the center is practically a small park - multiple playgrounds, sprinklers, natural areas - and each classroom has a door that exits into it. The kids spend a good part of the morning and afternoon outside. In the classroom, the kids spend time doing art, sensory play, story time, dance parties. My daughter loved her teacher (Ms. Karima) - she was calm, patient, and caring.”

“Our daughter just joined the preschool program at YIES two months ago, and it has been a great fit. We are amazed by how well her teacher already knows her and carefully thinks about what she needs to develop & grow. She seems to be learning so much - how to play well with other kids, Spanish, songs and dance. The other day she even came home and started drawing full portraits of her classmates - circle heads, with facial expressions, eyelashes, hair, clothes, and feet (she was just doing scribbles a week prior!). She has also been trying to write letters. I think she is really benefiting from being in a preschool surrounded by so many professionally-trained, mature educators.”

“Staff is wonderful but facilities are a bit outdated. It's free for EMU students. It'd be nice to have a gender neutral dressing room or bathrooms available.”
