Our regular veterinarian was closed, but we looked online and there were several options for appointments to have our puppy seen by a vet. He hadn’t eaten in almost 2 days. I called first thing in the morning and the person I spoke to reassured me they would take care of him. They got him in right away and he was on the mend a few hours later. I would highly recommend the Bemidji Veterinary Hospital!

The Espresso Porter was amazing if you like coffee & the Lakeshore Lime Lager was very refreshing. I also enjoyed the Watermelon Bose, which is a sour. The gals pouring were knowledgeable & pleasant to talk with. Very pleased with the whole experience.

This was a super cute place to stop while I was visiting Itasca state park. Stop in here for some scrumptious local eats!!

12427 Lizzy Ln NW, BemidjiI am so pleased with my Coppermoon German Shepherd Rio. All of Kathy's dogs were social and gorgeous with amazing family friendly temperaments. You can't find a better breeder or better German Shepherds than Coppermoon dogs. Rio has passed OFA Good Hips and normal elbows and he is good with other dogs and loves kids and visitors. I couldn't have asked for a better dog. Thank You Kathy for an amazing dog.

Great River Rescue
1612 Carr Lake Rd SE, BemidjiI previously left a negative review about the shelter but then had a positive experience that changed this review to a positive one. Their adoption process is quick, easy, but also asks that people adopting their animals treat them humanely and ethically, ie: no unattended outside cats. Their spay/neuter clinic is very affordable and they automatically enroll any intact animal adopted from the shelter into it.
Previously my partner and I had a lot of difficulty trying to surrender two cats with very problematic violent behaviors into the shelter, but on 08/06 when we came in they agreed to take them the same day. It appeared that our request and intention had just been lost between communications with different staff members and between my partner and I. I also have an out of state area code for my phone number which could have contributed to my calls being missed. Though I will note that we both left multiple voice mails which were only followed up on once through this two month debacle. The director acknowledged that there was likely just a big misunderstanding and did right by us the same day. She also noted that they will be adding additional staffing specifically for client communication to avoid potential miscommunications in the future, so hopefully our experience will be a very unusual one.
Overall my experiences with the shelter have been overwhelmingly positive, and deserving of five stars
