“I've Been coming to Axman surplus stores since 1971.... Sometimes all you have to do is walk in the store and you'll be the inspired to build a new project From their items... The bonus is reading some of the funny signs they use to describe their items because it makes it hard to be in a bad mood....for long. I simply love axman surplus”
“Best thrift store in all the states as far as I'm concerned, and I've been everywhere from Washington state to NYC. I always spend hours here because, beyond just the merchandise, the music and the people make a great atmosphere. 10/10 AMAZING”
“I love close by and wish I could go here more! The sweetest staff you’ll ever meet, very helpful with questions I had and just general conversation. I felt so welcomed here and love that I can support so many local sellers just by stopping at one shop! Very good selection of vintage kitchen and wall art pieces, as well as a great deal of vintage collectibles. Love love love!”
“It's a neat place, but you need to come pretty often to find the best deals. They sell a variety of items ranging from used items and new items. The used items seem to be either donated or from existing homes, in a range of conditions from rough to basically pristine. On the other hand, the new items seem to be overstock given to Restore (likely from Habitat?). They sell everything from lightbulbs to paint to gardening stuff and even wood scraps and power tools.”
“This thrift store is easy to access, well stocked for a smaller store, and has quality merchandise at a price that is surprisingly low in comparison to larger chain type 2cnd hand stores.
I recently moved to the neighborhood and needed to be very frugal when shopping for my new apartment. The 'New Day Thrift Store' was exactly what i needed. I have shopped there on several occasions and have always been very satisfied with the experience. The helpful and friendly staff do a terrific job of keeping things organized and neat so one may find what they seek quite easily.
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ because I got everything I needed for my apartment under budget, and the shopping experience was overall more relaxed than might have been at a larger store.
Kudos! New Day, you helped out, and I am sure you are doing a great service to the rest of our community.”
“Good selection of random used items in good to excellent condition. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Nicely organized and always clean. New items added every week. I'm sure you will find something that you want when you come !”
“Best thrift shop I've been to in a long while! Well-lit dressing rooms, well-organized merchandise, and the nicest employees you'd ever wanna meet. I absolutely love this place!”
“This is hands down my favorite place to thrift! Not only are the prices very reasonable but you'll not find more kind and personable owners and employees! Truly exceptional!”
“Clean and all clothes are organized by color and size. Great prices, selection and quality. So ive met/seen 6 staff members since going to this location and I will say it's a split on service. 3 of the employees were short when I asked them questions (not that im asking for FLO type service so its fine but dont look like you hate your job even tho most people do) and sort of blah sorting clothes behind the register, the other 3 were knowledgeable, hit all the sales points and 1 was even singing down the aisle and that made me feel happy.Otherwise, The only negative thing I have to say is the teething rings at the front door were very dusty, wiping them down and packaging them would help them sell and straightening up the toy area. It just looks visually chaotic with everything thrown up there. Also, shame on anyone who gives them 1 star over the bag ordeal. I saw it on the website, I always CALL ahead if I'm unsure and simply to inquire. Also, Don't smoke around your kids, their stuff or leave it in a garage or smoke in your house and think they are still going to take your belongings. That's just bad parenting and 2 you have a phone to leave a bad review but can't put in 30 seconds of legwork to do research by calling or looking them up.If anything changes I'll update my review.”
“Need to go repeatedly to find good deals on stuff. The "good stuff" sells right away. They do sale days too on Tuesday and Thursday if you're a senior. Those are the best days to go for sure.”
“Good values, decent selection, good staff, great mission supported. Store is usually well organized and pretty clean. Frequent colored tag sales @ up to 50 off. Realistic prices w/good weekly discounts in addition. Stock is significantly varied, mixed used with new items. Adequate parking. Shopping, food and gym adjacent.”
“I myself am shocked at how pricey they are
But I do know this..,. This is the corps income including ringing of the bells that they receive annually
But they do need to lighten it up a bit”
“It's not a bad location but it doesn't have a ton of inventory. Good staff and the parking lot is nice and spacious. It's also very easy to get to off the same road you use to get to walmart, this is actually how I discovered its existence.”
“I love this place! When you donate something you just drop it off through the drive-thru and a nice person takes it from you and gives you a coupon for 20% off or you can go online and fill out a little survey and you get $2 off. The store is very clean, very organized. There's a huge parking lot that shares a lot with Planet fitness. Lots of parking is available. I find the deals are great when you have a coupon!! Tuesdays are the greatest time to come with somebody that is 55+! Employees are always working! Please enjoy all 50 of my pictures, although I did take around 90 Google only allows the first 50.”
“I don't look at the clothing and can't speak to that but, besides media, other items don't seem priced to sell. Besides media, pricing is not as bad as Savers but not as good as Overflow Community Thrift (just north on Lexington at 96) or Mythrift at Rice and Larpenteur. For media prices, Overflow is better, mythrift and goodwill are comparable, and Savers is way worse.
I come to this goodwill a lot - at least once a week - because it's so close. I usually look for books and DVDs. There's good variety of books but the inventory is stale and browsing can be a nuisance, because you'll see the same books for months on end.
It would be nice to put the newer items on dedicated shelves. I've donated a lot of books to this store and, although they are in as good or better condition than what's on the shelf and generally of comparable (or better) desirability, I don't see them put out and I frequent the store enough that I should. I suspect that as long as the shelves are full they books donated are sent to some central location and sort for selling online.”
“Enjoy this location. Well laid out. Quality items priced reasonably. Wide variety of sizes, from infant to large men and women. Beautiful glass ware. Music, baskets, toys, and more. I like that they have several outlets to try appliances, electronics, etc. One of the best deals I found was a Shark hand held steamer for $12.99. It was new. I am a regular. I highly recommend taking a trip to find all the good deals.”
“Price is BY THE POUND, not what the tag says. A few exceptions for books by the inch and kitchenware and luggage. List at the front desk. No scales. They subtract the cart weight for a large amount with the floor scale, or you can pile a small amount on the desk scale.”
“Amazing! Super cute clothes and lots of Lululemon. They even had good shoes which they don’t usually have at thrift stores. I do wish they had some smaller sizes though”
“Puzzle section is huge! Prices vary from $3.99-9.99 which is more than I'd want to pay, but I buy the lower cost ones! Everyone is really nice that works here. I only come every few weeks or so, as I live 30 min away. I also love looking at furniture, pets stuff and clothing. Oh! And makeup!”
