Uhaul has gone to a mostly self-service/self-checkout model. This has some advantages, of course, such as returning equipment after business hours. And some people really would just rather do it themselves. They do offer the service to pick up at the office.However, you have to go searching for your own truck once they give you the keys. It doesn't seem like too much to ask to have a customer service person at least ask if you would like them to locate the truck for you to make that process a bit more user friendly. This would be especially helpful if the truck is parked in a difficult-to-get to location.It would be very appreciated if the truck were at least moved to an easily accessible place such as the office parking lot before the customer arrives to pick it up. As it is, the trucks are just parked wherever they were last placed and it's up to the customer to go find them in the lower parking lot and drive them out of that rather crowded parking area. A little bit of customer service in this regard could really go a long way.

Our experience with this U-Haul facility was excellent. The two workers in the office were very professional and offered helpful times. Our trailer was ready to go. Returning took a little time because I returned after hours, and I had to download the app and read its instructions. But the app worked and had me take photos.

Full description of entire experience:- I made a reservation online for a pickup truck and a 6x12 utility trailer without a ramp for pickup at a location 8 miles from me in St Paul, MN.- Received a call the next morning (830am which is earlier than I would expect a call, honestly) and was told that that location did not have the equipment, and was told I now had to go twice as far to New Brighton, MN. Asked if the 8 miles difference would be comped in anyway, as I was able to book at the location closer that said they had equipment, only to find out they did not. Was told that was not an option. She said she booked the exact same equipment for me.- I checked the reservation the night before my reservation, and noticed that she had booked me an enclosed trailer, not utility.. So I had to call in (because online and the app would not let me modify the reservation). THANKFULLY I got an absolute sweetheart of a rep. This was the ONLY good thing about this experience. She quickly booked me the right equipment, even had to move me to ANOTHER location which was actually closer to me than New Brighton, which was Bloomington. I checked the reservation right after, and within seconds I was able to see the correct equipment.- Make my way to Bloomington, and go to check in, I start hearing something about a 10ft box truck, and I politely say that I booked a pickup truck. The lady then told that I would not be getting a pickup WITH a trailer because they are STOLEN TOO OFTEN AS A PAIR???? That is something that is honestly not my problem. I booked a pickup so it would be easier to back up the trailer and see my surroundings. She refused to rent me what had been booked, and proceeded to take a picture of me along with my ID (front and back) which I have NEVER had done at a Uhaul. IF you are NOT going to allow someone to use certain equipment, don't let your OWN COMPANY book it on behalf of the customer.- The box truck itself barely started each time, and was kicking off a lot of exhaust. Otherwise that and the trailer were clean.PLEASE tell me you give your customers some kind of "credit" rating to show that they return all of their equipment is good working state on time? If not, that is a huge miss on customer experience and work efficiency. I have been renting Uhauls for over 10 years all over the country for day moves and cross country moves.

Staff was very friendly and very willing to help. Everything was clean and easy to find. Great experience - I've had some bad experiences at other Uhauls so was very pleased with the customer service and overall experience. Will definitely use this location again.

Every aspect of my experience was positive. The website recommended truck sizes for the furniture I had when I didn’t know where to begin. the store had every moving supply I needed. I was able to return boxes that I didn’t use and get a full refund. The facility is secure, clean, spacious, well-lit, and climate controlled. The staff was patient with a couple mishaps I had. Showed me around, explained things to me until I fully understood the security system. I got a one month storage unit for free via a special and they provided a brand new lock for my unit that I got to keep. The rentals and supplies are affordable. Location is very easy to drive in and out of with trucks. I could not have asked for a better, more efficient, streamlined, and friendly experience. Thank you!

Worst U-Haul experience of my life. I was given a truck with a dent and a grill full of weeds and dirt. Exchanged for a new car with 162m on odometer returned with 182 to find out they charged me for 75 miles. I didn’t leave the lot until 1:23pm and returned at 3.00pm - no way I could have driven 75 miles in that truck and do the chore that I rented it for - besides the fact that I went to 2 close places and returned - I called to complain and simply was told - yes you went 75 miles - I would like a complete refund.

after booking my contract , they voided my already-booked contract and wanted to charge me $400 more than what the website said. the woman at the counter was rude, unhelpful, unsympathetic, and incompetent. terrible customer service, terrible service in general. i’d give zero stars if i could.

Matthew and his team are awesome! I was helped immediately and politely with my reservation. It is a BEAUTIFUL facility! The staff carefully connected the trailer to my vehicle. They made sure that I felt comfortable securing the straps to the vehicle that I was towing. Thank you all so much!
