I don’t know why there are so many bad reviews, I had a great experience with Mediacom. I decided to switch because I was just given a slightly better offer from a different company. The return process was very simple, and Jackie at the office helped get me out fast.

I never could have imagined how painful it could be to try and get cable TV service. Tonight, I have spent 2 hours and counting on the phone, transferred over and over again, for simply trying to get the expensive cable TV that I am paying for ($150) to a second TV. I never thought that something so simple could become a nightmare that requires an entire evening to attempt to figure out. This is probably the worst company that I've ever done business with. I think I'd rather live off the grid and become Amish, and stop watching television as an alternative to paying Mediacom.

Literally the worst ISP I've ever had. I've lived in 4 states with several providers. The internet drops 3-4x every day during work calls. The price and bill will randomly go up after 6 months. If you call and complain it magically gets fixed. Completely unacceptable. The day USI gets ran into the westmetro Mediacom will lose 100,000+ subscriptions. Please, some other company please take my money other than this one.

I wish I could give ZERO stars for Xtreme Medicom cable internet! I have had repeated service outage with them on regular basis. Good luck if you are working from home and never have proper internet access to function and perform your job duties appropriately. I have also lost hundreds of dollars in income since they are having at least 2 out 5 work days when there is no service for any from 4 to 9hrs a day. I have been directly affected by this and my family has taken a significant toll due to this, that includes issues for paying for housing, being able to pay bills on time and inability to adequately provide for my family of 5 due the lost income (my company doesn't pay me for not working just FYI)...! I am completely fed up with this and moving on to a different ISP. During my only year with the Mediacom, this has been only a negative and bitter experience with them! Finally I am DONE and moving ON!

Our internet cable was cut while the city was repaving our road. According to the city, Mediacom only put the wire at a depth of 4", much less than recommended depth of 8". We called Mediacom that day to inform them that the line had been cut, and we were told they would send someone out. We have now been without internet for over a month. We have called every other day, and each time they are unable to tell us when the line will be replaced. They are the only ISP in the area, so we cannot change to another service, which is why they have no incentive to reconnect our line. If you are considering Mediacom, and have other ISPs available in your area, I would go with literally any other company.

Internet has been out for about 75% of the day for about a week now. Not a single call, email, or text from mediacom even letting me know of an outage or what they are working on to fix it. I called to see what was going on, and it played a message and hung up on me. I have also experienced the random bill goes up moments that others have mentioned. When times are bad, mediacom hides. Not a fan!

Absolutely terrible internet service. Contacted support multiple times with technicians coming out to our house to tell us “everything is alright” and recommending that it’s our hardware that’s the issue. $100’s of later on the latest and greatest hardware, the connection is still awful. Upon requesting service check up on the lines, no work has been done. Mediacom is the absolute worst option but unfortunately it’s our only one. Therefore they can overcharge us with extremely high rates for unreliable internet service. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone, I’ve been in constant communication with them for months now with no resolution or change. It’s even to the point where it affects my ability to work from home. That’s not ok.

Expensive, poor quality, unreliable internet and cable service. Customer service is also terrible. We once had to wait 8 days for them to repair a broken cable. No internet or cable for over a week. Avoid this company if you can.

Called to have our cable internet fixed a month ago. Had people out 3 different times, one tech told us he'd fixed it (not), next tech came out and told us we need a new underground cable installed. Told us a contractor would be out to install (that was 3 weeks ago). Another guy came out yesterday and rerouted some things at their main neighborhood box and said he fixed it (not). it's still the same today. Our internet is still running as fast as a 56K service from 20 years ago (lol).Still waiting for the contractor service to install the new line from a month ago.We are still paying the full monthly fee.I'm so glad we finally have other options. I'm looking into these now. Mediacom has had a monopoly for so many years, but not anymore. They are going to have to change their mentality and processes, otherwise they will be fossils soon.

EDIT for response to owner: quit it with the cookie cutter responses, all of us know you could care less about your customers. Sincerely I hope Mediacom goes out of business, start a business that's not centered around scamming your customers at the highest level, thanks!Too bad I can't give a 0, where should I start? Price and quality of service - I pay nearly 120 dollars a month for Mediacom's internet service that could barely be described as usable. It is impossible to do any sort of gaming due to the consistent latency issues (the node in my area is overloaded with too many modems, and mediacom will not invest in the proper infrastructure to fix the issue). Unfortunately, they don't have to fix the issue because they hold a monopoly over my area, so they can get away with charging the highest price for the worst possible service. This also means they won't give me any sort of refund for this pathetic excuse of an internet service. To compare, the new place im moving to offers 1Gigabyte upload/download fiber internet for 76 dollars a month - almost 50 dollars less than what I pay for mediacom, and of course fiber is significantly better and more reliable than mediacom's outdated cable internet. Additionally, their customer service is indescribably terrible - no point in even getting to that here. I have NEVER had worse internet than mediacom and it is the sole reason I am moving to a different city. I can't even understand how this company is still in business, besides the fact that they hold monopolies across different areas across the country. Limiting people's access to quality internet service and also draining their wallets. Mediacom is the WORST company I've ever dealt with in my whole life.TLDR; If internet is important to you, stay away from mediacom and stay away from areas that they control.I'll be filing a 3rd FCC complaint against this company as of the time of writing this, and I will also file a report with the Better Business Bureau.Sincerely I hope that someone files a class action lawsuit against this company, because it's been well deserved for a long long time.

If I could rate lower I would. OVERPRICED. INCOMPETENT. FRAUDULENT / SCAMMERS. I am forced to have them because of the neighborhood I live in.

Been using Mediacom for years. All the options in my area are trash. I lose internet on and off throughout the day every single day. Usually I’ll lose internet for a minute, just long enough to disconnect me from whatever I’m doing. Sometimes it’s out for longer. No matter how many times I call, nothing they do helps. I’m fed up.

A literal monopoly. Overcharges, underprovides. On 6 out of 7 days of the week and 23 out of 24 hours in a day I'm getting less than half of the speed im being sold, for what is a stupidly high amount of money. What needs to happen is a petition signed by a large amount of people to bring a service out here to compete with Mediacom.

Total incompetence. Our internet went down due to a storm and no one could come out for 6 days. I work from home so this was a huge disruption. We would never use this company but they seem to have a monopoly in the chanhassen area. Stay away if you can!!

Can I go zero (0)?We are more than 300ft from the main box at the road so we have a pedestal within 10ft of our house that connects to the main box. We have been having issues with the line between these two devices since last fall - and still have to contact Mediacom weekly if not daily to report service issues. They claim the line will be replaced but somehow the work orders keep getting closed without the work being done. Not a good service provider by any stretch of anyone's imagination, but again due to our physical location we have no other options. We feel like the techs are more like relatives with the amount of time they visit...
