Glensheen Mansion is a beautiful and well-preserved 1908 historic house located along the shores of Lake Superior in Duluth. It is a favorite stop with so much history, amazing in every season. Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the 39-room mansion and estate, using an app or reading signage, with knowledgeable docents available to answer questions. The grounds and landscaping are beautiful and fun to explore during summer, while the special holiday decorations around Christmas are gorgeous. A visit is fascinating and typically takes two to three hours to fully enjoy the mansion and property.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Grand Tour of the house. I installed and followed the tour on the app and read all the signage on the well structured tour. It is self-guided, but there are numerous knowledgable docents scattered throughout the house to answer questions. I hope to visit again in Spring/Summer to see the gardens.

Our 6 year old and 10 year old loved the Elf hunt! So much history and the self-guided tour was very well done.
