Grandma’s Marathon is a well organized and great experience from beginning to end. The event features a beautiful course, especially on a sunny day, that runs along the shore of Lake Superior. It is a mostly flat course with rolling hills, and the cooler temperatures make for faster times. Supportive spectators and friendly race volunteers line the course, cheering athletes on and providing hydration and snacks. The last miles into Duluth are packed with people cheering the runners on, giving motivation. The finish line features a unique medal. The weekend draws thousands of participants for its three-race event. Everything from parking to transportation is well organized, including a train to the start. The festivities continue after the race with live music and special events and vendors in Canal Park. The organization completed a great remodeling job, and the facilities are nice and clean. As a spectator, it is a bit challenging to navigate due to closed roads and many people, but it is a wonderful weekend and a great race. Many highly recommend it for a wonderful experience.
Great remodeling job. Nice and clean and very friendly staff. I volunteer for the races and enjoy greeting the runners. Looking forward to promoting and up and coming season.

I always have fun volunteering for Grandma's Marathon! It's amazing how many people run this marathon and how many people come out to support the runners.
