The owner and staff have been so helpful, knowledgeable, fun and friendly. I usually bring my pup along. She loves visiting and is always greeted and even offered a treat! Great selection of anything your pup needs, and an even greater selection of things they don’t need, but you’ll buy because it’s all fabulous.

4521 E Superior St, DuluthMatilda’s Dog Bakery and Boutique is such a nice, cute shop! We brought our puppy in, and the staff was incredibly welcoming. They went above and beyond by giving our pup a birthday hat and a birthday horn, which made the visit feel so special. The boutique has a great variety of different high-quality foods, fun treats, and unique cheese options for dogs. It is a fantastic local business, and we will definitely be back to spoil our dog some more!

We boarded them for nine days and we received very frequent updates as to how they were settling in, pictures of them, and the staff here are just exceptional, true animal lovers. Our dogs looked fantastic when we picked them up as well, healthy and happy and we couldn’t have wished for any better treatment for them. Highly recommend and we will be back!

As an early childhood teacher, the vibe in this tiny little shop felt trustworthy, caring and professional. Today was his first appointment. He was nervous and clingy. The staff and owner gave me the same advice I give new families further reinforcing my choice. I paid a similar amount at the big box pet stores but at the Grooming Shack I knew my big life saving super hero was treated with love and kindness. I've already set up his next appointment.

215 East 14th Street, DuluthThis vet and its people have been nothing but absolute angels for our many critters. We’ve been taking our 4 cats there regularly, and they are always extremely helpful, kind, and affordable. I recently brought my leopard gecko in when he was very sick, and they did all they could, providing me with medicine and a feeding plan and were very supportive. They were able to take him in at a moment’s notice. Unfortunately, my gecko did not make it in the end (he was quite old, so I knew it was a possibility), but when I brought him to get cremated, they were so unbelievably sweet and caring about the process, provided an urn, and then surprised me with a clay print of my sweet little man. I definitely shed some tears. I have nothing but amazing things to say about them, and they will be getting our business for as long as we live in Duluth.

At first I questioned the high-volume model. After discussing it with ChatGPT and our MD son and Dentist daughter, I understood they aren’t a traditional veterinary clinic—and that I shouldn’t expect the same level of phone access or personalized scheduling. They’re specialists. Just like choosing a surgeon who performs the same procedure every day, this team does spays and neuters all day, every day. Our son explained that thousands of repetition per YEAR builds real expertise. Your local vet might do 100 a year.
AI confirmed what our son and daughter suggested-that high-volume specialists become exceptionally skilled at administering anesthesia, monitoring vital signs, controlling bleeding, handling tissue gently, placing consistent sutures, spotting potential issues early, and ensuring safe recovery. I texted a picture to our daughter who does a lot of surgeries. Looking at the fast healing wound, she said someone was clearly a rockstar!
The low cost made me concerned. But their streamlined approach makes the procedure a fraction of the cost of many full-service clinics without arguably much higher specialized quality. Our pooch healed beautifully, recovered quickly, and the discharge instructions were clear and thorough.
If you’re looking for routine veterinary care, keep your regular vet. But if your pet needs to be spayed or neutered, I highly recommend this clinic.
P.S. I've included a picture of her belly after just 5 days... From bruises to clean progressive healing! :)

I called ahead to ask questions about pricing and accommodations for an anxious cat, and the folks at canal bark were so kind and helpful! They walked me through what steps they can take to help an anxious pet and made me feel like my sweet boy would be well taken care of. He was boarded for two days/one night and the cost was about $80 (the cost was slightly higher than normal due to peak season pricing, and we also gave a small tip). When we picked him up, they even had a cute little report card telling us how well he did. Overall great experience and would recommend!

Totally understand breweries everywhere are suffering and having too add food options. Just unfortunate for patrons traveling with dogs, there’s no ability to get tap drinks. Makes me wish the state would allow places to go back to having crowlers and growlers.

118 South 27th Avenue West, DuluthLori was such a wonderful host- food was immaculate. Had the banana pancakes, and the BEC bagel sandwich (pork belly with hash brown on an everything bagel). Smashed potatoes was really crispy, and the bacon is a must have (thick crispy bacon.)
The brussel sprouts were also incredibly crispy and flavorful!

Its not waited table service so you stand in a line throughout the restaurant to order first which can get long and hard to navigate since they are busy usually. The manager is always in a good mood, the bar staff are very accommodating and fun with good advice of what to try. The restaurant has a fun German atmosphere and its right off Lake Superior so great view. The food isnt nessecerily German theme so if you are looking for spaetzle or a good sausage you wont find it here. However, the sandwiches and soups and wonderful! There are shops, a rose garden and a cute icecream shop near by as well. Enjoy!

They always remember the animals they adopt out, every time I come in for any reason or call, they ask how my cat is. They’re amazingly kind people, when I found a cat hit by a car in the road, they were so kind and let me bring him in to get checked for a chip and took care of everything (I was in the area which allowed this).
