1315 South 2nd Avenue West, VirginiaI want to thank Critter Care very much for the help they gave us during a recent camping trip.
Our puppy is only 6 months old and she had been playing and having a great time, when suddenly she became very sleepy. At first I thought the excitement of being in a different place and new smells had wore her out. Then her head started wobbling and she couldn't walk.
We had no idea what was wrong with her, but it seemed serious and scary. We were up near Ely with almost no cell signal, but we contacted 3 vets in the area and they told us they couldn't see her and to go to Duluth to Urgent Care.
As we drove through Virginia, we thought, there's one place we hadn't called, if we stop in and have the puppy show up looking cute and pathetic, maybe they'll have pity on us.
We stopped and even though it was getting close to the end of the day, they agreed to check her out for us.
Virtually everyone there was so kind, caring and empathetic.
It turned out someone must have left dropped some sort of marijuana product, a gummy, a bud, something on the ground and she had found it and ate it.
PSA: If you use marijuana in public places that's up to you, but please, make sure you don't leave anything lying around on the ground. It is not good for dogs and it's scary and expensive for their owners.
At least she tested negative for opioids and meth, but we all know marijuana is a gateway drug, so I showed her some PSA's from the 80's on the way back to the campground.
In any case, we could not have been for pleased and thankful for the service Critter Care gave our pup. They even asked us to call the next day to follow up, but as I mentioned earlier, we didn't have much cell reception where we were camping and we weren't able to follow up with them. We apologize for that, but we would like to publicly thank you.
Even thought this wasn't an inexpensive trip to the vet, I can't imagine how much you saved us in cost, anxiety and travel to get to the Urgent Care in Duluth.
I would highly recommend Critter Care to anyone in the area, or who happens to be traveling in the area.

Northland Animal Hospital
712 North 8th Avenue West, VirginiaNorthland is always a very busy place. My grandparents have had many dogs and have brought many of them to Abby. Today was a hard day putting our 17 year old Yorkie to sleep (09/02/26) but Abby & techs are some of sweetest gals you will ever meet this was my first time ever having to do this and these gals knew the right things to say and the hugs were so appreciated as well! If you ever need a vet who truly cares about not only the animal but you as well Abby is the gal that will do it! It’s not easy to get in but it’s so worth it! I cannot recommend the service or staff enough! Thank you Northland & Staff for making this process as easy and pain free as possible thank you for taking good care of all the dogs my grandparents have brought here the work and sacrifices you guys make does not good unnoticed! Again I cannot recommend Abby enough💜
