Basic selection, mediocre service, and fraudulent. I originally sought out this store because it was recommended, and I had heard many advertisements. My review is exactly like the review Jodi Lieder posted 4 years ago and I guess things have not changed. Like her, this is not my first time around the breast cancer block. I have purchased mastectomy bras from Nordstroms, the Mayo Clinic and Health Partners. I drove an hour to give Underneath It All a try. Just as Jodi mentioned, they have their insurance filings and contract prices down to a science. They demand to receive $45 per bra from the insurance company and what they do not get they will collect from you as an overage or up charge. I was not aware of this until I had made my selections and was ready to check out. They actually inflate the price of the bra when they bill the insurance company so they can recoup the entire cost instead of honoring their contract like the above-mentioned providers. In my case, I purchased two bras ($67 & $45) in store totaling $112, UIA billed insurance $143.56. Insurance paid $81.47, my co-pay was $9.05 and the up charge for the bra over $45 was $22, so they received $112.52. I also ordered one $45 bra because they did not have my size. Insurance was billed $71.78 and paid $40.73 and my co-pay was $4.43, so UIA received $45.26, I know it is just pennies, but they received more from the insurance company, my co-pay and upcharge combined than the retail price of the bras on the sales floor. For all my fellow survivors, we all have had mountains of bills and review the explanation of benefits and see the insurance payments and contracted prices but this is not normal practice, this is ridiculous. I am all for independent stores staying in business and being profitable but as I said, this is fraudulent. I will not recommend this store, nor will I go back. I too have filed a complaint with my insurance company.

The staff who helped me was so kind and respectful. I felt very comfortable sharing my conditions and needs with her. She listened carefully and recommended what’s best for my body. Besides garments, the store carries neat accessories and comforting goods that breast cancer survivors need!!

Amazing experience - the team was knowledgeable, kind and helpful. The selection was great. The process was much quicker than other places I’ve visited. And the best part is that it’s decorated like a store/boutique, not a medical office. When you visit medical offices 3x+ a week, it’s nice to go to a place that feels “normal” (and has cute clothes, jewelry and gifts to check out!). Highly recommend!

Very patient and willing to spend the time helping pick out mastectomy bras, an overwhelming process. They also accept insurance plans.

I was a little nervous going in, but Sandra put me at ease and I felt very comfortable right away. She was very helpful in explaining how the bra should fit and what I would need after surgery and down the road. I will go back!
