Completely unacceptable amount of time. Over 5 hours for a foil. Finally walked out with totally wet hair and no hair cut. Would not recommend.

As a person that wears natural curls I only go for haircuts to shape my hair. Saw Megan today and she did a great job learning about cutting textured hair and I shared my styling methods with her. ?Not fully styled but you can see the shape change.

What a joke! The counter service here is very ignorant and pompous… (they would probably have to look up that word). The service here is overrated. I get that these are students and are in training.Nothing against the students, or their instructors.Someone needs to train the front desk folks on simple kindness, politeness, their RBF and maybe, just maybe find another job if they are not happy with their current situation.

Halle was fantastic! I got a full highlight with her and was very happy with the results. She was great to talk with throughout the services, and listened to what look and color I was going for. Highly recommend booking with her!!

I've been to the Aveda Institute for haircuts and eyebrow waxing multiple times over the years. Getting a haircut here can take a long time but I think that's totally understandable since it's a school. I had always had a good experience but today I got these cuts on my neck. The neck area was "cleaned up" by the instructor with the clipper. It hurt a little bit at the moment, so I guess I could've said something but I didn't think I was getting cut, so I didn't say anything. Once I got home and saw how bad it was, I decided to share this. I'm guessing there was something wrong with the clipper so i'd suggest Aveda inspect it's equipmentUpdate: I went back to show them this and they granted me a refund. They explained to me that the clipper was damaged

I’ve been here before and they did a decent job. I understand it’s a school and they’re learning so I expect them to take a long time. My most recent visit took almost 6 hours for a partial highlight. I left completely blonde and all my ends were fried off. The front was orange. Nothing I asked for. The girls who did it had my front pieces in bleach for almost the entire time. I didn’t want to be rude as they’re learning but I should have said something. I’m so sad. My hair is burnt off on all the ends really bad. They also charged me extra for more bleach, I didn’t even want. I will not be coming back for my hair. So sad. Side note unrelated to the girl that did mine, who was sweet, just clearly inexperienced for what she was doing. The girl next to her had her friend in her chair and was laughing about she fried off another girls hair earlier in the day. Lovely.

I went to school here for the esthetician program September 2023, and had instructors Kylie and Alex. My experience was amazing, I learned so much, and felt extremely lucky to have had two educated instructors that showed up everyday to give us our best experience.

I have had a wonderful service here in the past with a now graduated student. However, when I called to make my second follow up appointment Kate at the front was condescending, rude, and laughed at me on the phone when I was trying to schedule an appointment later than 8am on a Saturday. As a nurse who has early mornings all during the week, I wanted to allow myself a bit more rest and time to get there on Saturday. I don’t think it is hard to ask for an hour or so later to come in (when the last time I was in my appointment was 10 am and my stylist was able to get everything done). If things have since changed and that is no longer possible, the one scheduling the appointment can just simply say that kindly. However, to be met with attitude, hostility, talking down, and a “wow I can’t believe you would think you could come in at that time” attitude to is unacceptable as a paying patron.5 stars for the service from my now graduated stylist, but a def zero stars for the front service during today’s phone call.As someone who has worked as a front desk assistant before I get it. People can be aggravating on the phone, you have long days, etc. but I also fully understand that you are the face of a business. When you make people feel uncomfortable scheduling appointments they will not return. Especially since the stylist rate is high turnover with it being a school. It’s a shame for the students and school who are trying to make money and get practice in.

I’ve been going here for years… over 6-7 years and I can honestly say I don’t think I’ll EVER go back. They bleached my scalp so bad I had burn blisters and had to go to the hospital, and was left with completely orange hair. I was told they’d correct it once I was healed. During this time I found out I was pregnant therefore can’t get my hair dyed until two weeks before delivery, I called them to let them know this and they said that was fine and call when I’m ready to schedule. I’m calling to schedule and am told I can’t schedule it, and I also can’t be refunded as it’s been over two weeks since my service. So they take my money, ruin my hair and run up a big medical bill for me and can’t even just fix the orange in my hair for me after everything they’ve caused? Their school and the employees here are going absolutely DOWN HILL. If I could do negative stars I would. Do not go here. Believe the reviews from real clients and not the ones from students and employees who go to the school!Shame on you aveda.

This place has gone downhill. Massages used to be the best but the last 2 times they tried putting me with a male massager without letting me know ahead of time. When I complained to them they said they are gender equal and will not let you know who you will be scheduled with ahead of time of time which just wont work for me.... wont be coming back.

POC are NOT welcome here!!My partner (black) and I (white) came here to tour the campus as a prospective student. When we tried to check in at the desk there were three women there, two who were helping customers and one who appeared to be a manager or supervisor of some kind. Both of the receptionists were helping people when we walked in so we waited patiently in line. One of them finished up pretty shortly after we got there but this manager (I was told her name is Annie) started talking to the reception girl right away before we could be helped. We were standing only a couple of feet away from the desk as we had moved forward when the previous customer had finished. We could hear what they were talking about and it was absolutely not an important or urgent conversation but they dragged it on for the next 4-5 minutes until the second receptionist was done and able to help us. The entire time they were talking casually they refused to make eye contact and did not say a single word to us while we waited, though they kept sort of nervously glancing in our direction. They saw us standing there but still refused to acknowledge us at all. As soon as we moved over (literally immediately) to be helped by the other receptionist the manager ended the conversation she was having and said to the white women in line behind us that she was sorry for the wait. We were not acknowledged or spoken to by this woman who was supposed to be in charge. Extremely unprofessional and hugely frustrating that there are people in the world who still act like this towards POC. We left immediately and did not take the tour because that behavior is unacceptable and we absolutely will not tolerate that. I will also mention that we saw at least 30+ women (students/instructors I assume) in and around the salon area while we were there waiting and every single one was white, as were all of the customers we saw. POC are very clearly not included or welcome in that space and I urge you to take your business and education elsewhere. Very disappointed. I also went back to the desk by myself before we left to make sure I got the managers name (Annie) and both reception girls were willing to greet me when my partner was not next to me which further reinforces that only white women are welcome at Aveda. I called after we left to talk to someone about the experience we had and was transferred to a voicemail. I had to leave a message but have not heard back from anyone. I called again to speak to someone but again had to leave a message. When I received a call back that I was unable to answer, the voicemail left by Sandra Wagner was a bit cold and gave the impression that this woman did not really care about what type of experience I had. Aveda seems to be well respected in the beauty world, but they absolutely do not deserve that reputation. From the very moment we walked through the doors we felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. My partner was so excited to begin a career in the beauty industry only to be met with racism and disrespect. The beauty standard at Aveda is an exclusive club that only certain people are allowed into. True beauty is for every body of every race, and Aveda unfortunately does not share in that belief. Please do not in any way support them.

My stylist was fine and the experience was overall pretty good, but once I was finished and felt my hair, I could tell there was a ton of product in there that hadn’t been washed out. I couldn’t touch my hair without getting oily product on my hands, but by the time I noticed at the very end, I had already been there the entire day and had to get to work. I’ll have to wash my hair again because it feels so bad

Had a terrible experience here. They cater to specific types of hair ie. straight and are not inclusive in their customer service and treatment. Absolutely do not be fooled by the low cost, their products coat your hair and produce build up and the teachers are absent do not instruct or help the students so you're basically being treated like a guinea pig. I can confidently say they damage my hair and I left with a headache with 3 people pulling and tugging my hair. Also if you're looking like a whole mess at the end and your hair is super tangled or looking absolutely horrible you will still be charged. The front desk staff were extremely rude and unwelcoming- the lack of professionalism was astounding. Save yourself time and money and go somewhere else especially if you don't have straight flat hair. They damaged my hair, gave me a headache and experienced many micro-aggressions and had to pay for the horrible experience- don’t to it!
