I experienced excellent customer service from Bell Bank Mortgage. I am a first-time homeowner and was fortunate to have Carla Bland as my mortgage banker. Carla guided me through the lending process with ease, and confidence. She was very receptive to my personal financial situation and individualized a mortgage plan that worked perfectly for me. I am so excited to share, I just closed on my new home!! Carla exceeded my expectations with her professionalism, knowledge, and honesty of the mortgage lending business. Well, they're a bank. So I'm not sure that anything in this review shouldn't be expected. We have a $500,000 mortgage through Bell that we were going through a amortization process to drop the PMI. We wrote them a $125,000 check. Our own agent told us that if we wrote it for a specific amount that certain fees would be waived or simply wrapped into that amount. After we wrote the check, we were told...oops, that was wrong. And we need another $250 to complete the amortization. This is after they've cashed the checks so I don't have the option to be just as petty as this company is and back out of the process and get my $125,000 back. Bell Bank, are the penny pushers so powerful in your company that you have zero customer care values? Is it worth pissing off your customers this badly over $250 when you make 3/4 profit off interest over the life of the loan?

I could not say enough good things about working with Scott. He was open, upfront, and very well at communicating through the whole process. He went above and beyond for my wife and I to get us our dream home. This was our second home purchase but our first mortgage with Scott and we will only be using him from now on. We had changes to our closing an hour and half before we were supposed to close on the house but he and his team were still able to get us to the table and close.

On April 28, 2022, at approximately 8:30AM CST I placed a call to Bell Bank Mortgage to inform them of an error that they made in processing my check for my monthly mortgage payment. Bell Bank on April 27, 2022 cashed my check for less than what the check was written for. The original check was written for the exact amount of $1,842.41. Bell Bank decided that it was in there interest to cash the check for less than the amount of my mortgage payment. On April 28, 2022, I called and spoke to Bell Mortgage Jeff Williams, Mortgage Service Research Analyst, who informed me that Bell Does not read the check amounts for checks. They only read the memo and that they would not correct the problem. Furthermore, I was told that if I wanted the problem corrected that I would have to pay them an additional amount of money. Bell refused to acknowledge that they could have either returned the check to me or called me at the time of processing to correct the problem. The check was paid early enough that this could have been resolved in a reasonable manner but Bell refused to do that. In addition, when I asked for a copy of Bell's check cashing policy they pointed me to a google website that Bell does not own nor do they have anything to do with. Bell does not have a policy and they acknowledge that this was a personal choice of the individual who cashed the check. As a result of Bell's erroneous mistake and lack of customer service they risk my mortgage going into default and ruining my credit. I have several mortgages with Bell, and this has never taken place before. In addition, Bell refuse to allow me to speak to their most senior management to resolve the issue. The person I spoke with new nothing about mortgages or cash management and was completely incompetent to the issue at hand. I seek for Bell to correct this issue and properly credit my account.

After 2 years of living in my home with mortgage from bell bank, they raised my mortgage $500 a month from an error they made 2 years ago. I've now gotta sell my truck to cover the difference.
