The building is very modern with great views of downtown. Everyone I encountered in the building was nice.

I was a student loan counselor in the solutions department and as an employee, this is by far the worst job I’ve ever had. (And i used to clean school busses in the middle of summer.) They cram calls down your throat for 6 hours a day just to make their clients happy, with zero regard for how burned out the employees get. They constantly have to re hire because of their high turnover. In fact, they took away monthly commissions because they claimed too many people were quitting after consistently missing the mark. They have this thing called “predictive dialing” which basically means you will ALWAYS be on a call. By “call” I mean more than likely a wrong number, a voicemail, someone’s job, or someone’s grandma so for every 10 calls that get abruptly sent to you in 1 tenth of a second, youre lucky if 1 of them is the right number, and even luckier if they actually give you the time of day because BY THE WAY, youre also calling from a number marked as “spam” on most peoples’ phones. On top of that, cold calling in general is dead and none of the big wigs seem to have a solid alternative plan around that.I applied for 5 different promotions in 3 years, and wasnt even interviewed for 3 of them (Thanks Ryan Bakke and Nate Vickery) even though i put up some of the highest numbers for 3 years straight, won just about every corny, horribly executed sales competition they had, and even peer mentored a ton of people to improve THEIR numbers. I also have a ton of management experience in fortune 100 companies back in New York, AND I even peer mentored someone who said i was the best mentorship session they’d had, and was then promoted himself! None of this mattered when i tried to move up with the company.I put off writing this because I wanted to save face in case I’m desperate for another job in the future, but i would honestly rather move back to the east coast and live in my dad’s basement than ever waste another day of my life working and OVER PERFORMING for people who don’t appreciate it.Side note, Sam Verdeja is an incredible manager who gets it, and if there were more people like him as managers at Solutions, this review would’ve been written in a much different light. To anyone considering working here, dont break your back for these clowns. Do just enough to get by and youll be much happier, and probably rewarded much more handsomely in my experience.UPDATE MARCH 2021: Now this Solutions department is forcing its counselors to ask people for payments. The ONE thing that made this job even doable was knowing that you didnt have to ask for payments. Re-read everything i said above (especially the part about predictive dialing and cold calling from a “spam” number) just to try and coerce people into making student loan payments during a time where half the country is out of a job. Sound like fun to you? Me neither.I could not be happier about the fact that i told these bums to kick rocks. Byeeeeee ECMC

I hate this company. They are a joke. I did not deal with them for my student loan but I did work for them. If you have an offer do not take it. Their turn over rate is pathetic at best. Hired in Oct. with 9 other people, 3 left and the rest of us let go because they did not have the budget to keep us. Wow really. They give you auction money, then invite (by invite I mean FOURCE) you to go to the auction while you sit and watch them give things away and you are not allowed to participate. They will even KINDLY hand you the auction money right before just so you know how much you won't be able to use. Very high pressure job, even though the name "Student Loan Counselor" is your title, there is no time to console, only time to call and get them to stay on the phone. Dislike ECMC Solution's very much!!!!

STAY FAR AWAY. I’m was an employee that only stayed for 3 weeks after the 2 week training. I came on as a temp and during training they made it seem like there were little metrics and goals to meet. When done with training we were immediately HOUNDED about metrics. I came in and was on top of the list for metrics I was still hounded. We also were supposed to do things we never were taught and were hounded for not knowing them. I eventually was asked how I felt everything was going and I told them I felt that the metrics were impossible to reach. My direct manager told me our opinions doesn’t matter asking me FOR MY OPINION. he then said in a group setting of 4 temp workers that he did not need us there and we mean nothing to the company and how we can complain about metrics but it didn’t matter and how I was “disrespectful” for voicing my opinion once being asked. I put my 2 weeks in and am not looking back. After putting my 2 weeks in, he won’t answer any questions or work concerns of mine or the other temps. I never felt so belittled in my life. We started with a group of about 13 ppl in my training class, there’s 4 now after 3 weeks.

I worked at ECMC, in the Solutions Department, for almost 7 years. My only regret upon resigning, was not doing it sooner.

I know the rehabilitation program is offered as a one time deal. I am not a child I don’t need this repeated every time you call. I don’t need you to babysit me while I take care of this issue. I’m glad Navient doesn’t treat me like that.

The most evil, disgusting company in the student loan universe. EVIL.
