Such a wonderful experience! Came in with my dog and she got a great bone that she enjoyed all night! The butchers were so welcoming and helped me plan a meal and recommended the perfect cuts for the occasion! Will be back.

Too bad you can only give 5 stars. I went in with my 150lb Rottweiler and the guy that runs the place and his employee were SUPER NICE to me and made us feel more than welcome. As a black man it's hard to get that type of treatment especially carrying around a dog bigger than me. I went to buy bones for my dog but left with a new friend and a better place to buy good meats for my family.

I was looking for a pernil ( butt and back leg of a pork) and everywhere I went they had Pork Shoulder which is not the same. At Finer Meats I was able to find it fresh! I was also impressed with the quality of their other cuts of meats and chicken. They are also very helpful! ? I will definitely be coming back!

As I entered, there was a customer inside who had already paid & was preparing to leave telling the owners he doesn't go anywhere else, but to their location. He prepared himself to leave so that I may get assistance. I'm thinking what a wonderful way to start a review. Finer Meats is located right off the intersection of 38th/Nicollet Ave. They're two stores down from Nighthawk's. They have a real fine history. Doug, who is the current owner, is also the grandson of the original owner. He shared how his grandfather became the owner & how this quaint shop, with it's loyal patrons, are still standing after all of these years. You have to stop by to hear this story & to hear how many years they will be celebrating soon! I had a wonderful time chatting with the two ppl there. I didn't buy anything today, but plan to Monday. I have my eyes on some Turkey Tom wings for Thanksgiving. The young lady I chatted with was also quite friendly & shared info on different meats. I think I may shop here going forward for my meats. They offer meat packages in different poundage. There are also a lot cheese options. I didn't get a photo of their selection of smoked meats, but they have an entire case of smoked meats: hammocks, turkey legs & wings, and so much more. Parking may be a merry-go-round, I don't believe they have a lot. However, if you're on the bus, you may catch the 18 or any other Nicollet Ave bus that reaches 38th. Parking option is street parking only. Come check them out! You will not be disappointed.

I accidentally found place which has been in business for 60 years. I wanted to give it a try. I bought 1.5 lb beef tenderloin. The man behind the counter said it is trimmed and tied. It looked odd. I was disappointed. I had to trim it to 1lb. I specifically asked him of the chain muscle, which he didn’t know any thing about. Chain muscle had to trimmed. The price was $22.95/lb. Whole food charges $32.95/lb for organic grass fed tenderloin perfectly trimmed. I am not be purchasing meat there. Lots of reviews seemed good but I suspect reviewer are low-brow and do not quality. Service was goo.

Stopped in for a brisket point and they were able to cut one for me. Also picked up an aged tbone. Service was friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back.

I believe this meat market is the best in the nation. They carry One of my favorite things that is very hard to find Spicy Hog Head Cheese. ?
