We attended the Edgar Allan Poe experience and thoroughly enjoyed it. The acting was superb and very funny in a dark, macabre way. Personally I didn't really enjoy the cocktails, but that's personal taste. Only thing I felt was it was not really a speakeasy, and we felt it was going to be more intimate and sat around tables with the cocktails being served from a bar. None the less, a good time was had!

Attended thebedgar Allen poe event, first off event wasn't in the mansion, was in the attached hall, hall was hot and they crowded you in like cattle, acting was fine, drinks were weak

I don’t know if this venue is still operating. I spent 2 weeks calling and emailing them to book them next year. I have not gotten a response or reply from anyone. Every other venue responded within a few days, and we went with another venue.

They have new owners or management. They’re very unprofessional, very dismissive and rude. I was looking for a venue and they claimed I couldn’t book the venue for both a ceremony and reception. I would have to choose between one or the other going against what’s published on their website. Their website states you can book the venue for 12hours..very misleading. The young ladies who answered the phone passed me around when I called to get clarification. The manager asked me if “I was done speaking” while I was asking her questions. She then told me to take my business elsewhere simply because she could not properly answer my questions. I wouldn’t recommend the venue based on the service alone… Could only imagine what your special day would look like.

I have been photographing weddings at the Gale Mansion for over a decade. It never get old! The classic, elegant, timeless feel of the venue makes it a joy to photograph! The blues in the bridal suite are beautiful. The wood working throughout the whole venue is simply remarkable. This venue is perfect for an upscale wedding. If you are looking for a classic, mansion feel, I highly recommend taking a tour!

We are so thankful that we chose the Gale Mansion for our wedding reception! We fell in love with the space after a tour and meeting with Karen, the day-of coordinator. The space is truly gorgeous, and doesn’t need much extra decoration or decor. There is also lots of space in the mansion, which allows guests to catch up and spread into different rooms – which was especially important to us during COVID.The food is absolutely delicious (try the bruschetta!), the staff are so professional and kind, and the set-up and transitions were seamless. The staff at Gale made sure we didn’t need to worry about anything on our wedding day, because they took care of set-up and tear-down.Karen is incredible! She is extremely organized, and was so helpful to make sure we had thought of everything and were one step ahead in our planning. She is very kind, thoughtful, and fun to be around – we really enjoyed meeting with her regularly and spent many of our meetings laughing. She is also patient, and answered a lot of long emails with questions that we sent her throughout the process.Our wedding was perfect, and much of that was due to Karen and the Gale staff. We were able to relax and enjoy the day together. We couldn’t recommend Gale more for your wedding!

Very lovely place. Attended a wedding there and everything seemed to go pretty good. Only thing that was noticed by most was they took a while to clear dishes after the dinner.

My husband and I just hosted our wedding reception at the Gale Mansion this past June! We loved the Gale :) It was a perfect choice for us!! It was an elegant and unique venue, which is exactly what we were looking for! We toured A BUNCH of venues, but none compared to the Gale. My husband and I were on the same page the MOMENT that we stepped out of the Gale that we had to go ahead and book it!! We loved working with Karen, the venue coordinator. She ALWAYS had impeccable communication and worked around our busy schedule. I asked her probably about one million questions, but she always answered them so happily. She was so helpful in all of my wedding planning questions before the big day! She was also the SWEETEST, she would often have mimosas waiting for me and my bridesmaids whenever we came to do some wedding planning :)My one tip to brides, and I know a lot of the wedding blogs emphasize this as well (so I was well aware and not concerned), remember, venue coordinators work for the venue, not you! I honestly did not see Karen much the day of. I wasn't too worried since I had other great vendors!! If you want someone by your side the whole time, please save yourself the frustration and hire a wedding planner!!We love how quiet and intimate the Gale is. It's in Minneapolis, but in a quiet part which truly just makes it feel like this little corner of the world is all yours for the day. The getting ready rooms are also just phenomenal for pictures. Some of my favorite pictures of the whole day!! The grounds are also so well kept and beautiful for the bridal party shots and golden hour shots at the end of the day :)

What a gorgeous venue with an incredible staff! I absolutely loved shooting a wedding here a couple of weeks back and the photos came back beautifully. If you're looking for a gorgeous, historic venue in a convenient location in downtown Minneapolis, look no further than the Gale Mansion. I can't wait to photograph more weddings here and work with the staff again - the couple and their wedding party and guests had a wonderful time and everyone had great things to say about the service and venue itself. Karen, the venue coordinator, and her staff are so easy to work with and thoughtfully serve every bride and groom that comes through their doors. Highly recommend!

Was in my friend’s wedding held here recently and the experience was awful. The event manager Karen was so unwelcoming and unpleasant and ended up ending the wedding at 8:30 due to people drinking outside. No warnings, no nothing. I’m convinced she wanted to end it early and go home. We didn’t get to dance or anything. Additionally, the food was so incredibly mediocre. My salmon and my girlfriend’s chicken were both very over cooked and dry. The risotto was flavorless mush. The very friendly bartender we had was sent home, and maybe fired, for giving the groomsmen a 12 pack of beer to have in the room. I would highly recommend having your wedding anywhere else.

Gale Mansion was the perfect venue for our son's recent wedding. Karen and the staff at Gale Mansion did a fantastic job of providing delicious food, great service and support for all the questions and situations that come up at a wedding. Karen was so helpful in making the day a great success!
