Brought my car in to get my brakes done. New to the area and was looking for a new mechanic. This place will NOT be it. Paid twice the price, with a long list of “issues” they found. When I asked why so much they said I could have gone somewhere else. Save your money and find an honest shop.

Wish I would have read reviews. Sadly new to the area and looking for a new mechanic. Not very honest paying double the cost it should have cost. And when asked why so much they said I should have gone somewhere else, the most honest thing they said. Don't go here unless you want to overpay basic service.

I came here to get new brakes on my SUV because they have been making noises lately and the mechanic told me I wasn’t yet due for new brakes that he didn’t recommend getting them done yet so I’m asking where do you think the noise is coming from when I come to stop and press the brakes ? So I took my SUV to the Honest1 on Lyndale in uptown and here comes to turn out I was over due for rear brakes , the mechanic there was surprised that they didn’t recommend me getting new brakes done as for the noise are no longer there when I come to a stop . I think the mechanics here should reconsider his career.Service: Auto brake repair

More like dishonest one. I called them and they recommended unnecessary repairs thinking I wouldn't know. Charges $120 to put a battery in so I had another shop and they charged 30 because it was 10 min.

Have been a customer at this location for 6+ years, have had a positive experience for the service provided throughout until my last visit. Dropped my car off with the team for an oil change and acknowledged I might have some potential service coming up when I dropped it off.I left the location (since I live nearby) was asked a couple of times when I'd be coming in to pick up my vehicle before they closed (which was pretty uncommon) and the service manager did not bring up other potential services as the team usually does.Picked up the vehicle, realized that my windshield had a crack in it that extended halfway across the windshield on the driver's side which the team didn't bring up. Spoke with the location manager, they said it was noted upon inspection and they'd view the footage and get back to me.Speaking with multiple team members, they have all acknowledged that the camera angle wasn't clear, but they didn't feel they were at fault. They also mentioned that the service manager that was helping me that day isn't employed at the location saying, "he wasn't what they thought he'd be as a team member fit".Just wanted to share my experience, I don't write a lot of reviews and I work in a customer service focused career. Overall, the way that this has been handled in the approach and communication from the business has been disappointing. I believe I've offered accommodations in speaking with leadership in my communication, but the message that has been relayed is that they don't feel they were at fault and shifted the issue to me.

When you take your vehicle and $100 oil change, and are given a $2,700 estimate for work that needs to be done, it’s kind of a shock to the system. Your check (I think his name was Wyatt) helped talk me down off of the ledge and we chartered a course of action that got my wife and me back to Iowa.Services: Engine repair

Ironically--not honest.Brought my vehicle a while back for their oil change special (which is a decent deal). But then, in my case, they print out a page of "very important maintenance services" that were "manufacturer recommended". Without these they assured me I would start to have issues. However, I happened to have the owners manual with me and pointed out that the recommendations they were pushing were only for vehicles in "severe driving conditions." (Definitely not my vehicle -- all freeway miles). Immediately they became very defensive and upset that I would question their recommendations ("which they claimed were from the dealer and I was confused").The play was clear to me. Cheap oil change and then pressure people to get service they don't even need. (I even checked with the dealership after this appointment and they ASSURED me I didn't need anything else done on my vehicle.)I've heard similar stories from others in the neighborhood and you'll find this same narrative in other Google reviews as well. (The positive Google reviews get a discount). Sadly this Honest 1 isn't honest. :(

I usually get good service here. They did fix my issue by attempting the lowest cost option first and thankfully, it worked.Trying to coordinate shuttle service with front desk was a little chaotic and hard to know when someone would arrive. Hope they can smooth that process out so people are not left wondering and waiting.I got a lot of recommendations for vehicle maintenance based on manufacturers guidelines but still don't understand if my vehicle needs them. They seemed too busy that day to go through it with me.

I went in and got a 100 point inspection($200).Terns out I needed 7 grand worth of work. I wond up getting the main things taken care of (4 grand). After all said and done o we forgot to mention your frame is bent! Witch I took to a frame shop and quoted me 15 grand to repair. If would have known that on the so called 100 point inspection I would have never agreed to do any work after..A few days later it started huffing white smoke. The oil change they supposedly did. Over filed by 4 quarts!Never again! I personally feel ripped off!

The oil change I went in for was completed quickly and was priced in line with competitors. However, it seems like everytime I am told I need to take care of a lot of things that cost over $1000. Pricing for the repairs is crazy high--e.g. front light bulb...$538. Buying one at O'Reiley's $100--15 minutes later repair is completed.

We were referred to this business by our car dealer who was short of techs. We just wanted a lube/oil/filter and a tire rotation. The access was good with a nice level and flat approach and low threshold. The waiting room is well appointed, clean and comfortable. The restroom is close to the waiting room and it's also clean and well stocked, as well as being accessible. The front desk person checked us in and the service was very quick with a fair price. They asked permission to send us promotional material and we said we didn't mind. The person we dealt with there was thoroughly professional and courteous. We'll be back when it's time for service again.

Honest-1 Auto 59th and Portland. Brought my car in for an oil and oil filter change. I use the Ams Oil full synthetic (not cheap! $109.00). When the work was done, I paid the bill and then I was given a list of things that should be done. One of those listed things was to replace the Oil pan gasket because it was a leaking. Don't you THINK they should have mentioned that before completing the oil change ? To have the oil pan gasket replaced I would have to pay for another oil change besides the cost replacing the gasket. When I got home I researched the cost to do the other listed things they recommended to be done. Honest-1 Auto prices for the parts and the labor were jacked up higher than than other places. I do not plan on returning to Honest-1 Auto Care.

WORST AUTO SHOP EVER!!!!! Initially I came here to have my throttle body replaced. They charged me $700 and some change. Mind you they didn’t even offer a loaner vehicle. After I got my car out that horrible shop, I noticed my car still had the same issue. Therefore I went back to the shop to have them take a look at it. Since the part they “replaced” had a 6 month warranty, I thought this was a free of charge service. But no, later on that day the front desk person calls my mothers phone (as it is her vehicle) and explains that they also have to replace the pedal sensor. Mind you my mother does not speak English!!!! They ended up “replacing my pedal sensor” at an additional charge of $600 without proper authorization. Regardless even after the car came out the shop it still had the same problem. I decided to go directly to Kia, and I was charged a total of $560. This place is a scam. It’s no longer Honest!

Wonderful, trustworthy staff that care for your safety and walk you through their diagnostics. They explained from greatest to least importance on what needed to be amended. I so appreciate this crew! Thank you!

First off, Honest-1 offer discounts in exchange for positive Google reviews, so consider that as you review their 5-star ratings. Here's my story:Over the years, I have brought two different cars in for oil changes, inspections, and other repairs. Recently I tried to utilize their "complimentary roadside assistance" program when I got a flat tire and needed a tow. This program is falsely advertised. The website claims you can get reimbursed for towing and other roadside stuff (flat tires etc) -- up to $75 each occurrence, two times per year. Here's the exact language from the website:"Complimentary roadside assistance is made available to every customer who purchases $25 or more in previous visit services." So having spent hundreds of dollars at this place in the past, I assumed I qualified. It also says you can only get reimbursed 2x per year: "reimbursement for services is limited to two occurrences within a 365 day period." Fine. What I have learned as I have tried to take advantage of this service is that you have to have spent money with them within the last 365 days to qualify for the reimbursement. Which in and of itself is not objectionable as a policy, BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT THE ABOVE LANGUAGE SAYS. "Previous visit services" is totally open-ended and not connected to the stipulation about only getting reimbursed twice per year.I could have called my own tow, but because I was aware of this program and thought it was legit, I called them. Also worth noting that the location I went to (Diamond Lake) had no idea what I was talking about it when I asked about it, had no clue this is something touted on their website. I had to hunt down a corporate phone number to get clarification. The site says you must "call the toll-free services line" and then fax your service receipt in to get reimbursed but guess what? There is no toll-free phone number or fax number listed anywhere on the site. It's almost as though they don't actually want to make it easy for people to get reimbursed.....Anyway, take your business elsewhere and definitely don't rely on these jokers for roadside assistance.Service: Tires
