We love LHV! The staff are kind and attentive. The clinic is bright and clean. The dr gets down on the ground with my pup. It’s a great place.

Love this vet for both my dog and cat. They are very friendly, attentive, and never leave you waiting. The street parking is also pretty convenient out front. Big fan!

This has happened twice in a row now and the first time was also an emergency situation. The service from the front desk that I have received is abhorrent. The first time I called, the person didn't listen to a word I said, told me he would call me back asap. Never called me back. I had to call back and relay my emergency all over again because everything he wrote was incorrect as well. This second instance, I received a text asking me to call about the appointment I had made. I called, they recorded no information they were supposed to nor did they even tell anyone I had called already. They then proceeded to repeatedly text and call me over and over on my work phone, not the phone number I provided on my pre exam not form while I was at work with a client until I answered. They were upset with me because they "had asked me to call and were trying to get ahold of me" when I had already called earlier and received the instructions and given all the necessary information. I told them I had already called and already received the instructions and then I had to reanswer all of the questions while I was in the MIDDLE OF AN APPOINTMENT AT WORK because they couldn't do their job. I had purposely called before my client so I could answer what they needed when they first texted without interrupting my own job. They then informed me that they also didn't record any of the information from when I had initially called a couple days prior to this to make the appointment. The girl then proceeded to explain the instructions for in the morning that I already had received twice, and had told her I had already received, and I stopped her because I really needed to go back to work. Her response was to HANG UP ON ME. I don't if this is discrimination because of who I am, or if your front desk is just completely useless and incapable of doing their jobs, but this unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. I have never received such poor service from a veterinary clinic. I will be switching vets after my appointment in the morning to somewhere that actually cares about my animals.Update: They called about this review and DIDN'T APOLOGIZE for their awful service and treatment of me which I've said something to them both on the phone and in person about before writing this review. Thank you for caring so much.

I cannot say enough in one review to capture the all the things I love and appreciate about Lake Harriet Vet.If you are reading reviews because you are looking for the very best vet to care for your animals, then you probably love them like family. LHV feels more like you are going yo a family doctor than a veterinary clinic. My animals have received everything from annual wellness care to acupuncture, to cancer treatments here and I can’t imagine going anywhere else. They even helped me before and after the very difficult process of saying goodbye to my little furry loved one. You can trust LHV.

I can’t say enough good things about Lake Harriet Veterinary. My 14 year old American Pit Bull Terrier mix has been going to LHV a majority of the time I’ve had him, and my 1.5 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier has only ever had them as her primary vet. Both of my dogs receive lots of compliments at other clinics (emergency, speciality) on their behavior when they’ve had to go elsewhere - and I attribute that to the care and kindness they always receive at LHV. They always feel safe - and actively pull me into the clinic to see their “aunties”.I am a very overly cautious pet owner who trusts very few people to care for my pets. I love being able to walk into LHV and feel completely safe and content with whoever is involved with my pets’ care. LHV is always accommodating and kind when a health issue comes up. My older boy has cancer, and they keep up to date and in contact with his oncologist to make sure they can help provide the care he needs. When my younger girl had an emergency after hours they immediately checked in on her the next day when they received the emergency clinic records.Their prices are pretty average for the area, and the care they give is unmatched. Throughout the years I’ve had appointments with every single doctor, and I’ve met every tech, every assistant, and every receptionist. All provide top notch care and my dogs love every one of them. The doctors are upfront and honest with their recommendations, and they talk to me without “dumbing down” or sugarcoating things - which I greatly appreciate.Truly a gem of a clinic!

We don't have the most well-behaved dog. But they treated her with respect and caring, and all the staff were kind and friendly to the whole family. We appreciate having them in our vicinity!

Finally found an amazing vet! So happy with Dr. Bourne and staff! I didn't get the best news back about my fur baby, but they all were very considerate, and informational. As well as realistic about what I could and couldn't afford with no judgments.

I started using Lake Harriet Veterinary in 2021 with my then new puppy and senior dog. I have been so pleased with the service and care they have provided both my dogs and me.I know we are in good hands no matter who our appointment it with, I have had the pleasure to meet all the Doctors. They actively listen to my concerns, observations and answers my questions with care. They have always made me feel like I am their main focus during these appointments and send home detailed instructions when needed. I am especially impressed with they way they all have navigated my young dog as he can be fearful and barky when in the exam room.I highly recommend Lake Harriet Veterinary to both current and new pets parents!

We have four cats (only two were planned!) so we get to go to Lake Harriet Veterinary a lot. Dr. Jessy is our main vet, but all of the techs and vets have been excellent to us. They take the time to listen to us, and answer all our questions. And they are so gentle and calm with the cats. It's plain to see that they really love their patients.

EVERYONE here is very nice. They do their best to accommodate our needs/appt times. My experience with Dr. Jen has been nothing short of amazing. I can tell she really likes my dog and that feels great.

Cats are still doing alright but one was stitched up quite poorly after a complicated spaying (the details of which are too lengthy and personal for this review). I mention this now because her range of motion has not recovered and it bothers me because it all could have been avoided if I had ignored their timeline for the operation and gone somewhere else. Also the issue that I was initially worried about and that the vet told me NOT to worry about then became an issue for the operating staff which put me in an extremely awkward and unprofessional position as I was then under some weird moral duress not to move forward with a messy situation that I went out of my way to avoid. I was then up-charged for the complication that I was initially and repeatedly told not to worry about when I scheduled the operation in question. Thankfully when listening to my grievance they at least removed the up-charge, however in retrospect I can't believe that I was charged at all.The staff should have a record of my experiences and have hopefully amended their practices since. I never thought to write a review at the time because the staff at Lake Harriet, like so many of us, seemed to be under quite a bit of duress due to the pandemic and it was a time for more sympathy than not. Furthermore I am usually in the habit of deferring to the expertise of professionals, but hey, lesson learned. I subsequently decided to turn my back on this business when a receptionist later informed me that it was morally wrong to have indoor/outdoor cats (we live in an apartment now so it's a moot point). Whether you agree with that assessment or not, it was a very unprofessional opinion to espouse and it further informed my discontent with little Baozi's operation and their negligent handling. After years of taking my dog and two cats from a former relationship to Lake Harriet Vet I know for a fact that much of the staff are fine professionals. That being said I now feel that my sympathy for their situation as a business was really misplaced, hence this belated and rather shabby review.

Our senior dog could not stand on his own one morning, completely out of the blue. I called Lake Harriet and they got us right away. I was very emotional. The vet took a lot of time with us. She answered all my questions (even those that did not really have concrete answers, about the psychological wellbeing of my dog). They called the next day to check in and even loaned us a special harness so we could assist him with mobility. Fortunately, it was vestibular, so after 4 days or so we started to see improvement. He is still a little wobbly and has a slight head tilt, but he is walking on his own and back to living a normal, slightly slower, but good, life!

Finn, our Irish Terrier sees Dr.Jesse. She’s amazing. He is very comfortable with her. I love her professionalism. She covers all the bases and listens to my concerns about Finn, given he’s now a senior dog. Thank you Dr. Jesse❤️??

I’ve always gone here for my pets, and I feel confident in the care and advice we receive. Dr Jessi knows our dogs best, and is so incredibly kind and patient. My sweet senior dog with anxiety and multiple health concerns is in good hands with Dr Jessi and the rest of the wonderful LHV staff!

Dr. Sarah is the best vet I’ve had in the 20+ years I’ve had dogs. She is patient and nonjudgmental with my fear reactive pup and doesn’t get short or frustrated with my dog the way other vets and techs have in the past. She’s incredibly knowledgeable and provides me with all the resources, guidance, and answers I need as an anxious dog parent. If your pet struggles with vet anxiety, I recommend going to Lake Harriet Veterinary.
