Lakes Makerie is a charming neighborhood sewing shop and a beautiful store. It is a gem and an absolutely lovely shop with a wonderful selection of beautiful, quality fabric and sewing supplies you won't find at chain stores. They offer great sewing classes, including beginner classes with a super helpful teacher and a perfect class size. The staff is incredibly helpful, welcoming, friendly, and super helpful, providing advice and assistance for projects and welcoming beginners with lots of questions. It is nice being able to touch all the fabrics. They provide great service with fast shipping. The shop has easy access near the Minnehaha Parkway for biking and is close to a bus stop. It is a local business to support and protect.

Beautiful store and wonderful sewing classes! I took a beginner sewing class here last night and it was so great. Our teacher was super helpful, the class size was perfect and I feel much more equipped to work on my own projects in the future.
