Luhm's refinished my grand piano over 25 years ago and did an exceptional job, so when faced with a new and very complex finishing project, I thought of them immediately. Derrick did the research needed to determine what product to use to create a durable finish over multiple layers of differing products, including vinyl graphics, with great results! From the first phone call, they were great to work with. I highly recommend Luhm's!!

We had a boiler back up in our home in 2024 and Luhm's was called in by our restoration company to provide restoration services of very cherished antique furniture from our home. Before this event, I had never heard of this business, but now, I can't tell enough people about them. Our 1920s dining room set and an old lawyers desk that belonged to my grand father were lovingly and immaculately restored to mint condition. The dining room furniture has become the most commented item in the house. Besides being consummate pros, they are down to earth, nice people to work with. They have an appreciation for detail and history and it shows in their work.

I have a dining table that has been in my family for roughly 125 years. Over the years, it endured a lot—being stored in a non-temperature-controlled room and used to hold heavy objects. Luhm’s Refinishing went above and beyond my expectations in restoring it. They repaired all scratches and divots, fixed the locking mechanism, replaced two missing wheel units, sanded, and restained the table to perfection.
Their turnaround time was incredibly fast—just three weeks from start to finish. On top of that, they handled both pickup and delivery, making the entire process seamless.
We've had the table back for a few weeks now, and I still find myself admiring the craftsmanship and attention to detail. If you have any antiques in need of refinishing, I would recommend Luhm’s Refinishing a million times over!

I used Luhm's Refinishing on two occasions. They refinished several items in my office that had scratches and wear. They matched the special order color on a desk, bookcase and credenza so that they looked new. The results exceeded my expectations.

We had some careless contractors who left watermarks on our dining room table (a long story, for another time); but Derrick and his crew were able to restore our table to an even better finish! We are so happy with the work, and the kind nature of everyone who works there, that we won't hesitate to bring other refinishing needs to this shop.

Nice guy. we had a fire in May ICC sent some of our furniture there for refinishing, very disappointed. Chairs done wrong twice, furniture stained wrong color, furniture returned in pieces.

My wife's family heirloom grandfather clock was ruined by smoke and soot from a housefire a couple of years ago. The combination of Luhm's Refinishing for the handcrafted wood case and Brent Glommen Clock Repair for the mechanics (the movement) within the clock were the perfect combination to restore the clock perfectly! Derrick at Luhm's was so kind and patient with my wife as she requested very specific stain color to match our home. This was done via phone calls and text pictures from hundreds of miles away since we don't live in The Cities. He added multiple layers, darkening it to her taste perfectly. Once the clock was finished being repaired, along with a couple of friends, I picked it up from Luhm's to drive it in a trailer to my home in Sioux Falls, SD. Derrick and his team were so helpful, kind and caring for the treasure that the clock is. They made sure we packed it safely and then took plenty of time explaining to me how to run the new movement and to care for the clock. I highly recommend Luhm's!

Our bedroom set was refinished at Luhm's, a headboard, double mirror dresser and 5 drawer dresser with doors. It was in a fire with light smoke damage, but looks great now and has a gorgeous maple finish with no smoke smell. We love it. Professional, courteous staff, family owned for 3 generations.
