The room was okay, but we had a toilet that wouldn't stop running every few minutes and had to shut the water off when we went to bed to avoid it waking us up. The shower was also not a good experience, water pressure and temp hard to control. The biggest thing though is the smell. The signature smell in the lobby, which is purposefully pumped into the common areas (i asked the front desk about it) is so strong its hard to believe people could eat or drink anything down there in the bar area. I could taste it just walking through.Overall not worth the money.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Nice breakfast options. I would stay here again.Rooms: Rooms were spacious and very new/well-maintained. Walls were definitely not thin, which was nice.

No valet; poor parking signage, and limited room service. I like the location and my corner room; however, not sure if I would returnRooms: Tastefully decorated.

Want to give a special shout out to night shift Adam & manager Stuart McKay for being so amazing and helping me after I left items in the hotel! So professional! So wonderful! If you want to stay at a trustworthy location, stay at the Depot Hotel ? ❤️

The front desk worker, Joey, was extremely helpful with check in and got me in a wonderful room! We had a wonderful view of the city and it was great to cool off in the pool after a long day.

This is the place to stay if you wanna be downtown Minneapolis at the right cost. Not too fancy but comfortable and great location. Room rates are very reasonable but no free parking. At $27 per day for self parking, it’s kinda steep. Rooms are very good sized but not as modern as I’d expected. No central lighting control switched bedside means u need to get up and turn each one off and on.

Ringing in 2024Usually, on New Year’s Eve, I stay home and quietly write reflective poetry. This year, however, good friend Tom W. and I decided to brave the wintry weather and hike the big circle that is known as Pillsbury Gold Medal Park. After two laps, we were well-chilled and headed to the Renaissance Depot Hotel lounge for dinner and drinks.Unfortunately, the lounge was rockin’ with costumed party-goers in tiaras and top hats. It was pretty much standing room only. However -- there were two seats next to a large span of windows sitting empty and we snagged them! Then found out WHY no one was seated by the windows. It was freezing cold! Fortunately, we were dressed for a long winter hike. The partygoers looked amazing dressed in bare-armed, deep V-neck, clingy slip-like evening wear with sparkles and feathers, wearing stiletto heels (the women, at least). Let’s just say, most of their skin was exposed.I draped my mid-length extra-poufy down coat with a fur-lined hood over my shoulders and settled in. Tom was comfortable in his heavy cable knit sweater (the type of outerwear the government issues to G.I.s). We toasted to the New Year. I sipped my New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc wine (which tasted and looked like Champagne!) while Tom enjoyed his delicious lime-flavored non-alcoholic beverage. We both ordered the Depot Burger. Excellently prepared. Hot and delicious. Later, when the partygoers finally headed off to their party, we had the lounge area to ourselves and moved to a warm corner near the fireplace for hot coffee. One of the best New Year’s ever -- and I still had time to write poetry.

Located in the business area with not much around unless you walk a few blocks to the light rail train. Tried taking a shower in the morning and the water was scalding hot, enough to burn you. Called down to the desk and was told since my company paid for the room I wasn't entitled to change rooms! With a response like that, she needs to find a different profession away from hospitality.Noteworthy details: If you're expecting BonVoy comfort and service, set your expectations very low for this property.

My organization recently hosted an event at the space for the second year in a row and we are constantly ecstatic about the service we get and our guests. Their service is top notch! I highly recommend hosting an event at their space. We will be back every year.
