Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Park is a cherished community space in South Minneapolis, offering a variety of activities for all ages. Visitors can enjoy a lovely playground suitable for toddlers and adventurous older kids, as well as open fields for walking, baseball, and basketball. The park features a wading pool for younger children, though some reviews note the pool's condition and that not all fountains are functional. There are picnic tables, charcoal grills, and plenty of shade for family gatherings. The addition of the Kingfield Farmer’s Market has been well received, enhancing the park's appeal. Overall, the park fosters a friendly atmosphere for neighbors, dog walkers, and sports enthusiasts alike, making it a favorite among locals.
There are 2 very detailed memorials here honoring public service people in wars and civil duty.

Easy parking and great facilities aimed at supporting and empowering young people and families. There are indoor and outdoor spaces for all ages. I attended a volleyball game for a parks league.

This park is amazing. It's huge and has indoor tennis but also the basketball court is one of my favorites. It's so smooth you could snowboard on it. Buttercourt.
