I use to like St Vincent de paul, but today I had to make a return, and instead of giving my money back they gave me store credit. I bought a wireless USB keyboard for them and the keyboard had the wrong usb chip. Only one person at this location tests the electronics before they hit the floor, so it was a mistake that person made, that I now actually have to pay for! This is why store credit is a scam. St Vincent de Paul doesn't pay for any of the products that they have but then they get to keep your money because somebody else made a mistake with the electronics! I know accidents happen, and really I wouldn't be this pissed off if they had just given me my money back!

Have you ever heard of a "thrift store" holding an item? Have you ever heard of a thrift store that sold a $10 item and held it for a customer, but yet still put it on a shelf to be sold? Well it happens here. I just moved from Portland Or., to MPLS Mn., and I'm starting over. Whatever didn't fit in my car, didn't come with me. I found a place, but its an old porch that has been retrofitted into a room. that means stone tiles for a floor. I'm sleeping on rock in my sturdy lil' sleeping bag. Waiting till my property gets shipped here. So I went down to the local thrift store to find something better. I found a blow-up mattress for $10. Figured that it was good enough till my bed got shipped here. Went to pay for it, and the cashier told me it was "on-hold" I wasn't allowed to buy the item that was on a shelf to be sold. I got upset, so I left and thought about it. Why would a thrift store hold an item that was only $10? So I went back. Its really painful to sleep on this stone, so if i could find a cheap fix, then I'd like to see it happen for me. When I got there, and started asking if it was policy to hold a $10 item, and I was told that it was not. However that all changed when I went to confront the cashier. Suddenly, the item wasn't on "hold" any longer, now it was considered sold. Mind you, I could see the mattress sitting in a pile behind the cashier. Now she says the story is that it was sold and that it was never for sale. Why would you buy a $10 blow up mattress at a thrift store and not take it home with you? More lies. So riddle me this, why would you put an item up on a shelf for sale, and when it actually sails, take it off and insult your customer? I get the whole "employee first dibs" thing, but i had it in my hands, I walked up to pay for it, and you took it away from me and sent me on my way. Now im sleeping on a stone floor again..

One of the best thrift stores in the Twin Cities!I love the back room, you can always find some hidden gems back there. They have a good variety of clothing for men and women. Everything is priced very fair and the store is organized to make finding what you’re looking for east. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

They were very rude and kept watching me while I was looking at books, and a worker was following me around the stores d then said that I needed to leave my purse up front and I said I'm not comfortable with that I'll just leave them, and she said ok leave them but eveyother lady I saw with a purse was fine so I was discriminated on and I have been going there a long time but they have new managers like from another country it's sad how they come here and take over with their rude ness and prejudice behavior

I've been in several in many cities and states and always enjoy the experience . I love the experience of finding treasures . The prices are fair and the selection is usually vast . I also love the mission of st Vincent's , the money they make goes to food programs for the homeless and poor. They also give vouchers to the less fortunate for clothes, and housewares. I'm a fan.

This is one of the hidden gems 8n Minneapolis ' thrifting. Unassuming, based on the neighborhood and exterior, but this place has the best deals. Really nice staff. Always something new. Don't forget to check out the back room, past the books! There are always tidbits of glory dispersed amongst the merch back there. Plus, Tuesday and Wednesday they have $1 day and 50% off day on certain tag colors. Also, they have a dollar rack all the time in the store. They close early, though! 5pm, I think. Go early and find your next treasure. The off shoulder dress pictured was half priced at 3.50!

This place is unorganized, and prices are to high for donations.?Some guy named Eric who is supposed to be a supervisor is dismissive and rude. Asked for a price on an item and asked for him to show me the item and how it worked stated that it would be a liability for me to see it opened before I purchased it ?Uhh look around your store..The whole store is a liability!!Please stop selling things if customers can't test them out !Also be prepared for anything when you come over in this area.. Some lady got her window busted out while in the store shopping! ? ✌?

I just had a donation pick up, a lot of nice stuff. I thought donating was a good thing to do, until I was asked to pay $259 to them. I'm shocked and upset that I was not told this.i don't have the money to pay. I could have taken my donation to the Goodwill.

I have been a long time customer for years. By far, St. Vincent's is the best thrift store in the Twin Cities. They have a kaleidoscope of items; clothing, housewares, furniture, décor, art, hardware, jewelry, children's items, books (well organized and comprehensive!), linens, seasonal, etc. The staff is incredibly helpful and nice; the prices are unmatched. And, each day some prices often are even lower due to the tag color. Free parking is adjacent to the store on their premises or directly in front on the street. I would encourage everyone interested in a quality product at an extremely reasonable price to stop by. I guarantee you that you will become one of the many loyal customers.

A worker was stocking the books and hacking up a lung, unmasked. She then looked at me wearing my P100 respirator and said she had one just like it. I said she should be wearing it instead of coughing all over the store. She said, yeah, this coughing just started today. I hope it isn't serious. So she's knowingly going to work sick and spreading it without concern for others. I haven't been in that store for over a year because of the cavalier attitudes about killing and disabling other people. I will never go back.
