I love my bank!! Nick Johnson has been very helpful. Whenever I come in I always try to see him over anyone else. It's nice having that familiarity with someone I trust. He's helping me build my credit and manage my accounts. I do wish this chain were bigger with more locations but they are on par with all the latest tech, their app is easy to use, and I've never had any problems. I highly recommend this bank and Nick Johnson as your banker!!

I had issues from the start. First, after opening and funding a checking account online, I never received a debit card. I waited well over a week. I had to go to the physical location to get one.Then I go to deposit a check so I can pick up some quarters. The credit union I use typically allows for the first $200 of any check deposited to be available immediately, so I expected to get at least my $10 in quarters when depositing a $500 check. Nope. Nothing available until the next business day, which for me was a work day. I had to wait 3 days to get the quarters I needed for laundry due to their hours and my work hours.And if that wasn't bad enough, I tried to add my credit union account for transfers, which turned into OVER A MONTH of back-and-forth with "Digital Operations" trying to figure out why my micro deposit verification did not work. They eventually insisted on me calling them, when I work generally the same hours they accept calls, and refused to fix anything via Secure Messaging in the app. Why even HAVE secure messaging if it's not secure enough to do business over?!I finally closed the account this week. What a waste of my time that all was.I wanted to like this bank, their community support was encouraging, but their actual service was awful.

I've been a customer at Sunrise since 2017. I absolutely love walking into my branch. The Sunrise team members greet you with a smile and treat you like you're their most important customer! They're not only courteous, but highly efficient and knowledgeable, too. I also love that Sunrise is a B Corporation, giving back to and nurturing this community. I highly recommend Sunrise to anyone in the Twin Cities looking for a new bank!

I have never heard of Sunrise Banks, and they introduced themselves to us by sending us a threatening letter in the mail telling us we had unclaimed property that was going to be confiscated by the state if we didn't call them!!! So angry. I HATE companies who try to scare you into calling them. When I called, the customer service agent on the other line wouldn't tell me anything or give me any information about the reference number on the letter they sent me. They wanted to get my information first?? No f****** way. Also, when I called back a few minutes later to speak with someone else to ask them to please not send us any more threatening letters, I got the voicemail that said, "Sorry for the inconvenience, but we cannot access your account right now. Try back in an hour." Well, let me tell you, if I were at the grocery store trying to use my Sunrise Bank card to pay for them, and the card didn't work, so I called customer service, I'd be PISSED if I got this recorded message instead of someone fixing my card so I could get my groceries!!! Unbelievable.

I've been trying to open a business account with them for 10 days. 5-6 phone calls, 3 contact forms through the website, and a message left in a bankers voicemail box apparently doesn't rate a callback.

Poor individual customer service. Can't get through to a banker. I called several times desperately needing to speak to a banker. I got through to the operator, she transferred me and it rang several times. Finally got voicemail. I left a voicemail hoping to hear the next day, as they promise on their message. They have yet to return my call. Called back two days later and the same thing happened. I refused to leave a voice mail this time and when I got upset the operator found a banker for me immediately. Why? What were they doing before I got upset? I don't think I'm unreasonable. One reason I chose a smaller bank was that I thought I would get better individual service. Unfortunately, I felt I had to leave a complaint based on my experience. I left a voicemail for the branch manager of the SAP branch. Never got a response. They may go a lot for the community. Great. But the individual customer is viewed as an annoyance,

We use Sunrise for personal and business banking and they are amazing. A year or so ago I had a small concern with the level of service at one of their drive thrus at a branch, they were quick to resolve the issue and we’ve been very happy customers!

This bank does great things for the community. Get yourself an account rep there, keep in touch via email, and build a relationship with the bank. They will work hard for you. Could do better with the phone system / being able to get ahold of someone to talk to immediately, but over email and in-person they are great. Currently banking with them for both business and personal.
