As a Platinum Elite member of the Marriott Bonvoy program and a returning guest, I was extremely disappointed with my recent stay at the Westin Minneapolis downtown. The consistent heating and cooling issues made for a very uncomfortable experience. Despite my loyalty to the Marriott brand and this particular hotel, the subpar conditions were unacceptable. I hope management addresses these issues promptly to ensure future guests have a more pleasant stay.

My fiancé and I stayed at the Westin to be downtown and close to restaurants. It was difficult to find the lobby. You have to go in a side door and then go up a narrow escalator, down a staircase and through hallways to get to the lobby. The elevator is very finicky, and you must use your hotel key to go up to any floors. Sometimes the buttons didn’t work. The rooms were decent but could use an upgrade. Linens were a little itchy and there was a dull whine coming from our vent that never turned off.
We went down to try out the pool and you can only access it by going through either the men’s or women’s locker rooms that you also need a key card to get into. The hot tub was full of odd foamy bubbles that looked to have dead skin cells/dirt accumulating in the corners and on the bubbles. We likely won’t be staying here again.

Breakfast in the Dinkingroom
Hmmm omelette was ok
Roasted odors awful -old baked prorates roasted into very good -
The cappuccino mediocre- served like warm
Service is slow waiter didn’t listen when I said hold the potatoes when ordering the mushroom omelette - I said it twice and he said ok - but brought pities any way -
Then meal delivered but with out the croissant
And when I got it the croissant was cold -
This. Oils really be a great place but they have to step up the service
And not take 25mi minutes to get a cappuccino
Finally pay attention to what people are ordering v at the table !
One thing for sure the hotel should upgrade the coffee beans used to Peace coffee French Roast
The coffee would taste vastly better
Food and drinks: Ok but not the as good as it could be

A slight issue arose during my experience, which management successfully addressed. I appreciate their prompt resolution. Thank you.

Worst hotel. There was a huge fight outside my hotel room door and blood was left all over the hallway. Informed the man at the front desk and he asked me what I would like him to do about it. I told him I felt unsafe as my children are with me. He literally told me he didn’t care.

If you’re considering staying here, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This place is a complete disaster. The beds are absolutely awful—every move makes the springs creak loudly, even just lying down. The bathroom is just as bad, with a cracked sink bowl that leaks water all over the floor, a shower door that won’t close, and a faucet that barely works. To top it off, the body wash dispenser was empty.
The only reason I booked this place was because I found it on Priceline for $66 per night, but even at that price, it wasn’t worth it. I can’t imagine paying their standard rate—it’s no better than a Motel 6, maybe even worse.
While the building itself looks decent, the parking situation is a nightmare. If you’re traveling with pets, be prepared for frustration—there’s no designated area for them to relieve themselves. Overall, this place is a complete letdown. Avoid it if you value your comfort and sanity.

Nice rooms with a beautiful view and a great location! Would definitely stay here again, but a little discouraged by the lack of amenities included in the cost of the room

Was not able to check in as I forgot my wallet and they don’t have the capability to take a card through Tap technology

I was attempting to write all 5 stars FOR ATTENTION, but Nvrm. ***PLEASE READ FOR PARKING***
I’m not pleased with my stay whatsoever.
I just got home from staying 2 nights at the Westin hotel. I wanna start by saying the men working front desk 1/23-1/25 were all GREAT. The ladies I experienced - not so much.
My phone call to ask questions was a lady that was really sassy and not very helpful at all. I had simple questions like parking, food, freezer for baby milk etc.
Check in was wild- we stayed in the lobby for near 10 mins and people started to funnel in after us with an EMPTY front desk. When the lady with the long curly hair came out, she was walking like she really didn’t care we had been waiting. She was short with us and uninterested in conversation- even a hi or what can I do for you. It was weird. When we had a question for her, she was still walking away when we approached her after too.
The room was clean. It was cute.
Pool also clean and cute. Very cute. And the locker rooms.
THERE ARE ZERO MICROWAVES BECAUSE ITS JUST ANOTHER GREEDY ESTABLISHMENT THAT WANTS YOU TO EAT AT THEIR RESTAURANT. So if you’re someone that likes to eat- DONT BRING YOUR LEFTOVERS- just buy more! Cause no microwaves.
NO PACK AND PLAYS. I was told they have them and I was told everything was moved around when I got there . Very scary to not have a sleep space for our baby. I barely slept.
YOUR ROOM IS NOT AFFORDABLE - TONS OF HIDDEN COST.
BEST PART : parking. I’m not sure who’s bright idea it was to have a skyway to a parking garage LABELED FOR THE HOTEL and make it so it’s **not accessible** AT NIGHT OR WEEKENDS, but this made our trip HELL.
None of the staff know anything about directions to things IN THE SAME BUILDING??? We had to walk down the street and around the corner to get the parking garage AND WAIT FOR A CAR TO COME OUT in order to get our car. It was 10 degrees. Parking will total around $70 for 2 days. That’s plain sad, but probably not their fault.
If you have lots of stuff , kids, elderly, or anything that’s already lots of work DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.
Very sad with booking here. They tried to be fancy dancy- but it’s horrible and a SCAM.
Please train your staff. They make this hotel look ridiculous.

Room and hotel itself were alright, room service changed the beds with dirty sheets that had stains on them and the water pressure was quite weak. Don't stay at this hotel and expect free parking, all nearby lots and garages are 20$+ for overnight parking. You also must walk a ways through several limited access buildings and downtown streets to reach the hotel itself. It's not very clear where the hotel is even located when you enter, thought the lobby was some sort of gift shop at first.

Wifi is terrible, unacceptable for a 4-star hotel in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. They were doing construction in the middle of the lobby and made it difficult to navigate. Only pro is there is a hot tub and a nice shower.
