This review is for US Bank headquarters: I was in Mexico at Grand Velas Resort in Playa Del Carmen. On July 17th my wife had a stomach pain and we called the resort medic in. He was there for literally 5 mins and then had to go to an emergency call for a guy who bumped his leg. The resort told me that would be $130 charged to incidentals. He advised we go to a "hospital" in case it was appendicitis. When we arrive we are asked for insurance info and told that they will bill the insurance for the $130 room medic with anything else they do, if anything, and I just need to give them my credit card I used for incidentals and passport to confirm with the resort. I said ok but DO NOT charge my credit card for anything. I was assured they would not but about a half hour later the little guy from the reception came back with a $6,000 auth on my credit card!!!! This was before my wife had even been seen. I told them to remove the charge immediately and then they started saying they wouldn't charge it but bill insurance Monday, if they did anything. I told them again to remove it and I would not be paying. I wrote "don't agree" on the signature line where it asks if I agree to the auth. I made it clear that they were never to even auth my card. We waited an hour before the "doctor" arrive wearing Gucci wedges, a gaudy Gucci belt buckle, and a Gucci purse, not scrubs or a lab coat. She meandered around gossiping with the other staff for another hour before we finally had it and said we are refusing service and leaving. She then came running in saying it was appendicitis and we must have a surgery and they would need my credit card to auth $18,000. I told them absolutely not and they are not to charge my card ANYTHING. We signed a form refusing service and left. Of course, the next morning while at the airport waiting to fly out I check and saw that they never even tried to charge the insurance and instead charged my card $3,700!!! For what?! We flew home and went in to the hospital locally just to be sure it wasn't appendicitis and it WASN'T. The hospital here in the USA found nothing wrong and said the stomach pain was likely something bad she ate. I called US Bank immediately and report the fraud. I was assured that it would be removed since I had proof, I took a pic showing the auth where I wrote "don't agree" and explained the situation. The case was opened and auto closed saying they had my card so it was valid. I called and had it reopened explaining again what happened, that rep also assured me this would be reopened and handled. I was called again asking for more information from a yet a different rep and sent the copy of the auth receipt where I wrote "don't agree". It was closed again saying there was "proof of service" I called YET AGAIN and had the case reopened. Yet another new rep called again asking for more info on a Friday and I tried to call back the next Monday. They said they would reopened the case. It was never reopened and I also had asked for this "proof of service" they never communicated further. I then opened a Better Business Bureau complaint against US Bank. They refused to reply and said they'd mail correspondence. They just mailed copies of the letters saying they opened a case and then closed the case for the three times it happened. No proof and no new info. I wrote a letter to the "office of the president" at US Bank saying the charge must be removed from my acct. All I was asking for was the charge removed and I would forget the time and stress that this has caused. I get a call on December 1st from a rep named "Jabey" which she pronounced jah-b-eh. I explained the situation again to which she repeatedly and belligerently replied that they had my card and ignored any proof I provided saying it was too late to open a case and I would have to basically sue them. I let her know I would be calling the comptroller of currency, attorney general, and pursue any further legal action

U.S. Bank is owned by U.S. Bancorp. This branch represents the headquarters for U.S. Bank and it's one of many locations around the U.S.A. The institution I used to deal with, Union Bank, was taken over by U.S. Bank sometime in late May 2023. It really was inevitable that thing would change and I immediately felt they changed for the worse. In mid May I received a letter from U.S. Bank that literally spelled out account and routing numbers. The first thing that came to my mind was: "who the hell would print this kind of information and sends it through mail?" Then I answered myself: "Obviously, some idiot that does not understand anything about banking and security". Imagine if somebody intercepted my letter, opened it up and found out what my banking coordinates are. The piece of paper even spelled out my address. It was all together and ready for crooks to take advantage of me. Think about when hell comes loose and you have to go through it to prove that somebody screwed you. This is ridiculous, really stupid and totally unnecessary. I don't need a banking institution with people with no common sense, especially if they inherit my bank, a decision I never supported or I want to support moving forward. This entry shows 145 reviews and an average of 1.1 star ... that really does not look good and says it all.

Oh, the arrogance of this bank!! What recently happened to me has to be against the law. I could list several examples of why I am dissatisfied with this bank, but this is the most recent example of the greediness of their Private Banking department. Given the closure of regional banks SVB and Signature and the uncertainty of another regional bank where I have two seven-figure CDs I wanted to move my money to a larger bank. I entered my local US Bank branch to open a simple checking account. A client relationship consultant IV helped me by the name of Wes Torany. After taking my information, he advised me that due to my deposit amount, I would have to deal with the Private Banking department, and they would be calling me shortly. I received a call from Theresa Kumar, from Private Banking; she informed me she could open the account if I agreed to pay an annual service fee of $15,000.00!! When she asked if I was okay with the proposed service fee, I replied absolutely not and ended our conversation. The next and last time I walk into a US Bank branch will be to close my last remaining checking account!!

Do not use there ATM. Went to the ATM at Rosemead inside of Walmart. Went to withdraw $100. Put my card in and punched the numbers and the machine made a rolling sound like it was counting out the money but no money came out. Went inside the bank but they said to wait for pending to go away. Pending went away and $100 was taken out of my account. Went inside the bank and was told to call 800 number. Called 800 number and after over 2 month they denighed my claim twice. US bank doesn't bank up there ATM's. If the ATM make a mistake in there favor it's there gain. I will never use there ATM's again. Use at your own risk. They can see that I didn't get my money by simply looking at the camera above the ATM. If they are dishonest about ATM what other things are they dishonest about. They are dealing with so much of our money that we may not notice money lost. Dishonest bank!

US Bank voice/electronic mail is the WORST for making phone credit card payments of any bank I've ever encountered. Clunky software that they have not updated for a DECADE. The electronic phone thing NEVER recognizes your bank account number, either by voice or by typing it on the keypad. REPEATEDLY. Finally it asks you to choose between various accounts. They read out the entire 20 digit number to you, then ask if you want the payment deducted from account one or two. Same garbage EVERY time with both my US Bank credit cards. I have complained repeatedly -- on their voice mail. Finally I'm writing this in hopes of getting their attention. They DO NOT TRY to make their AI any better. It stinks. US Bank STINKS.

You literally have a 1-star out of over 120 reviews. You'd think you start making changes. But not US Bank. This is the only bank I do business with that you can't even do simple things like initiating a dispute for a duplicate charge without calling them and the website has said this feature is coming soon to mobile and web for YEARS.

I have been with U.S. for quite some time and as I recall I was transferred from the previous Marquette Bank, (anyone else remember them)? Service has been mostly spotty but better in the last few years. There were some situations with a lack of communication. One time I had a small fund which just sat there and all of sudden I get a notice they helped themselves to $30 as a service fee. They've added fees to everything, but there was no alert, which I expected. I took the brief notice to a branch manager for an explanation and all I could get was "I don't know". I wasn't sure if this would be yearly quarterly, whatever. There was another situation when I was placed in a checking account that would pay no interest but I would get new checks for no charge. In less than two years I ordered new checks and was charged $34., no letters, emails, nothing to let me know. I called customer service and was told, "yeah we changed that." Three stars is generous but that's mainly because I have no issues with my local branch and the ease of of checking on line.

I honestly don't know why I use this bank anymore. the Palm Springs, CA branch is worthless. I don't know if there is a time I go there that there is not a problem. Last time they did not have quarters, I ask the girl how they were working without quarters and she said customers were bringing them. today, I lost my card and had to to there. The teller acted put out. He gave me a temporary card, I told him I had security alerts on my card and wanted them on temporary card, he said they were there. He wanted to sell me a new card, which I would have been a crazy person to take. got home, of course the security alerts were not on the card. called and the girl sounded just dingy, gave up, my patience was done. most of the time there are only two employees working, yes, two and you wait a long time for service. I have to drive to the Cathedral City Branch a lot,

I've had nothing but problems with the Austin MN branch. Finally had to close all 3 accts. So today I decided to put a review in cause one last time I went in it to get one roll of quarters because there was ONE person in front of me. 15 minutes! WTF? I cant count the endless screw ups this bank branch has done. Lets just say they have really Fd up enough i had to leave and my wife who has had an account with them for over 30 years closed her 2 accts and cancelled her credit card.

US Bank in any state is the worse financial institute in the United States! The customer service reps are terrible, uninformed! Without notification, they have closed my account, returned my federal retirement direct deposit, leaving my house, car and payments in jeopardy! Do not utilize US Bank for banking, loans, checking, savings, mortgage loans they will jeopardize your financial life without notifying you! Utilize any other financial institution! I can't stress enough....do not utilize US Bank!

if i could give a 0 (zero) i would. i have had a secured us bank credit card for years now ... and i have always made payments and on time ... but i moved from las vegas, nevada to florida and had to close my checking account down since us bank has no us banks in the state of florida. i did keep my credit card open. i notified us bank that i was moving and put a change of address in with them, and notified them of my new address in florida. they hit me with 3 late charges on my credit card, and charged me a yearly fee on my credit card, which was on ... a veteran's account (100% disabled) and a senior citizen ... which us bankcard services apparently doesn't give a damn about. so now we know how they really treat their veterans. they did (kindly) reverse the late fees when i spoke to them and they realized the error was on their side and not mine, but did in fact put a late fee (one time) in my wife's experian score that knocked it down by 81 points!!!! how dare they treat us like that!!!! they did not put the credit bureau notification in my credit score but did my wife's and only 1 and not the three that they reversed due to their own error !!!! this arrogant supervisor kyle said that it was a courtesy that they reversed the late fees but i had to argue with the credit bureaus to change the late payment and thus reversing the 81 point drop due to their negligence ... this kyle argued that they notify regularly electronically about payments coming due or late fees but this is not the case ... as i can prove otherwise. so here we are ... with usbank treating me like crap on a secured card from which they are holding my $500 since 2013 .... if i close it down, they will take forever to give me back my money that they have been holding for 8 years ... so what am i to do? good job us bank ... good job supporting disabled veterans ... eh?

Seven days after receiving a NEW debit card (it went from printing at a local branch, to my pocket and finally to my file cabinet) the fraud department of U.S. Bank called me to confirm if I did or NOT, make over $1,000 dollars worth of charges on the seventh day. The call to me was at 7 AM that day, the day of the charges. Of course I DIDN'T make them as 7 AM is before any business is open (I live in Las Vegas, NV), but the corporate office is in the central time zone which means that my debit card charges happened WITHIN U.S. Bank employees. I have NEVER used a debit card, which confirms that it was a bank employee who made those charges. So, BEWARE, anyone who's doing research/reviews whether a person who's willing to lose money upon creating a bank account with U.S. Bank. **** Also, I'm betting I get NO response from anyone with authority from U.S. Bank. Make note of that as confirmation as to whether U.S. Bank cares for its customers!

US Bank is the worst bank I have ever dealt with they are constantly charging hidden fees and making mistakes on my credit card bill costing my company money and valuable time! On Oct 31 2020 I went to the Brunswick Ohio branch to pay my credit card bill with a check as I have done every month for several years. The teller as unable to process my payment stating the system had changed After waiting for 20mins I called the # on the credit card and spoke with a rep who stated she could do a check by phone payment which I did..Well the idiot lady entered the wrong account # and other info and my bank wouldn't accept the check bc of it..I went to use my card and was denied.I called US Bank who tried to blame it on my bank. they never contacted me to let me know the payment wasn't accepted the just denied any transactions. This was my business card and since I was unable to purchase materials I lost a job in which I would have profited $900. This year has been extremely difficult and my business is struggling and I can NOT afford to lose money because these idiots cannot do their job. US Bank offered me 50 rewards points in return what a joke!!!
